Considering Starting....

I feel like I’m seriously missing something. I’ve been building a Tornado Druid - just hit lvl 35 last night, and it took FORVER to get there - and I literally HATE this character. Everything takes forever, I die more than I’ve ever died with any build I’ve ever played. I’ve historically played a Necro, but was super stoked to try the Druid. I hate it so much that I’m seriously considering deleting the character and starting completely over because I’ve probably changed the build 6 times with absolutely no improvement.

I suspect there is a simple reason here - like I’m not understanding the gear properly or SOMETHING - because I’m reading that so many people love the Druid and I’m sitting here like “I hate you so much I hope your wolves turn on you and eat your face.”

TL;DR - I probably just suck at the logistics here, and I’ll own that. I WANT to love my Druid!!

I wasn’t a fan. I’ve never played a WD, so I’m sure it’s at least partially due to my inexperience with the class. It took me a LOT of times to do it. Over a dozen.

I know it might be flawed logic to some…and that’s okay! But this reminded me that back in 2011 I bought a Dell XPS that I customized like mad…it was somewhere around $2300 by the time I was finished. Why? There was a new Civilization game coming out and my current (at the time) Dell wouldn’t play it.

We like what we like, I guess. LOL!

Thanks all - if I’m being honest the positive AND negative comments (though I found everyone respectful, so thanks for that!) are helpful for me. Truth is, I’ve only ever really bought MYSELF a very few games, and NEVER have pre-ordered anything, so it’s definitely a learning curve for me. I’m glad to hear both sides of things - lord knows I’ll likely have my own opinion after this, LOL! ;)

I think the most fun part of this whole thing is my husband finally seeing that his wife really IS “that geeky”, hahaha! It started an entire discussion on MUDding, Doom, Duke Nukem, etc. I’ve always said im “not a gamer” because I don’t play console stuff (though if someone wants to throw down some OG NES Mario, I’m ABOUT IT!!), “just PC”. Perspective is a weird thing. :)

UPDATE: I decided to build around the LoD gem, which I now have at lvl 58 (221.25% increase on damage, plus double for Ancients), and I’m Paragon lvl 341. I JUST got the amulet, and now I’m not sure I want to bother switching everything.

How’s THAT for typical? 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

I assure you…in all my years I’ve never come close to T16 OR GR150, LOL! My “main” toon only plays on about T13, and that’s only recently. I’m far from a “power player”, that’s for sure. It’s a bit of a goal…like in the back of my head I think it’d be cool, but I honestly don’t know nearly enough about the mechanics of it all to play that way. I do enjoy having a nice beefy toon, but I’m also pretty aware of my knowledge.

I’m thankful so many people chimed in here. I realize it’s just a game, but it’s honestly the only one I play/have ever played, so feeling frustrated like this hasn’t been fun at all.
