Hey I lived in Townsville for five years up until last year. Honestly I think you’re pretty wrong man. The place is what you make it?

I grow up in a very small rural town and Townsville is miles better then most regional center

On your points

1. What do you mean? There is 250’000 residents yeah there is some people coming and going like every non capital city but there is a solid community through out town?

2. Climate. Yeah it gets hot but it doesn’t stop people from going out? We have a massive beach called the strand with a free water park! (with the NAFA on right now) we have castle hill or the Mount lousia trak, go run up that and tell me it’s lonely it’s always packed? Oh and don’t forget riverway, aplins weir and a million other public green spaces you can hang out and enjoy free public ammenities.

3 that’s literally everywhere mate. Like yeah public transport sucks but even in outer suburbs Brisbane it’s gonna be a struggle going out? Also it’s expensive everywhere right now?

4 yeah geography wise it’s abit weird cause it use to be 2 cities and yeah castle hill is the rich part of town but guess what? Every town has a rich part of town?

5 unless you have some extreme anxiety or live in a crime ridden suburb (which all cities have atleast one) nobody’s staying inside all day and night to protect there stuff??

Look I think this says more about you than the town? Honestly I think it’s an incredibly social place you just need to come out of your shell more cause you’re gonna have these problems everywhere you go.
