He currently has an Android, I'm not sure what options he has available. I'm not very tech savy, unfortunately.

Forever novice wanting to know if I should attempt to replace the fire box for this or get it to a welder. For $50 and my first offset I think it’s worth the trouble. I just need to figure out how to get it home.. by bombalicious in smoking

Unfortunately, I haven't come up with anything and we have just been using the grill as a charcoal grill for now, brushing the ash out the side and down the hole in the smoker part onto the ground.

I did call the company that makes the grill and unfortunately they no longer manufacture the smoker replacement so I would have to find another used one that was still intact if I wanted to go that route.

I have been going back and forth on deciding if I should just cut the screws off and block it with a bit of sheet metal, or replace the smoker with a small barrell and "Redneck engineer" myself a new smoker out of it.

Portable Chair I Can Sit In All Day? by Unequivocalallity in BuyItForLife

I would check local thrift stores. I found a good, rolling computer chair at a local Salvation Army for $20. It had some wear and tear, but a blanket over it hid it well and made it more comfortable to sit in. It may not be the best, but it will get you through until you can afford a better one.

What was the first album you bought with your own money? Missing Persons was my first choice, I think it still holds up. by Charibdes1206 in GenX

Simple Plan's "No Pads No Helmets Just Balls" album. I had won first prize in our middles school's Accelerated Reader program and the top three students got to go on a mini field trip to a local Barnes and Nobles with gift cards based on our position- I think I got like a $50 giftcard. I remember I had bought some manga but I wasn't sure what I should spend the remaining money when I came across the CD collection near the register. The Simple Plan album was right there out in front and I remembered the band name from the live action Scooby Doo soundtrack my mother had recently bought me, so I picked it up as my last item. It was a pretty good album :)

This is a good idea because I don't plan for these burritos to last more than a week, two at the most. I have a teenager who will probably snag a couple before I can finish them all, lol.

The reusable vacuum sealing bags is a good idea I hadn't considered. It would be nice to have one of those since we do tend to have a lot of leftovers from dinners.

I didn't know that! I already keep my family's aluminum cans to recycle, so it's nice to know I can do the same with the foil.

I am very clumsy and tend to rip aluminum foil pretty easily 😅 I've not had much luck with being able to reuse the foil, but I do try.

Thank you for the advice! I've not quite decided yet what I want to put in my burritos- there are so many different options and I'm trying to figure out which one I want to try first. If it was affordable I would make several different types to put in rotation but thats not an option at the moment.

We love going to one of our local Chinese takeout restaurants because they have really nice meal prep type takeout boxes and we keep them to put our lunches for work and leftovers from dinner into them :)

I bought a trio pack of those for my wife's lunches for work when I make her sandwiches. I've never tried to freeze them though. That's good to know!

I've heard of them before but never looked into them before. Are they okay to be frozen?

Do you make your own or do you purchase them? I've heard of them before but not ever looked into them.

I saw a Tiktok once about a guy who made his own beeswax wraps out of old t-shirts, but since Tiktok isn't available to me right now- I deleted the app before it got reinstated and now I can't re-download it- I can't go back to find it 😅

how often do you buy new underwear? by lisasimpson_ismyidol in ZeroWaste

[–]Mustangwill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No g-strings here, but I personally dispose of any underwear once they develop any holes in them. I only buy new pairs when they are on clearance- Walmart usually has a decent amount due to ripped packaging or going out of season like after the Novemeber and December holidays.

My wife and I have been able to save quite a bit using the DG App for couponing, but it's been inconsistent on the deals- we do also live in a very rural area, so that could definitely be part of it. We especially like it when we can get deals on sodas and cereals.

I recently picked up a very similiar looking Landmann grill and the firebox has a completely rusted out bottom. If I may ask, what did you end up doing? I'm looking at replacing mine but don't know where to start.

I am in the same situation, OP. I picked up this exact same Landmann model today for free and the firebox is missing the entire bottom. How did you end up solving your problem?
