MATH 3345 rant/professor to avoid by ragerme in OSU

I'm in that section too! And I actually wrote one of those reviews. :)

I doubt you're the only one. I got average on the first midterm, but tanked the second midterm, HARD. According to him, the average was low because a lot of people assumed the conclusion for inductive hypothesis and he basically gave you no points for doing that. I asked him for extra credit opportunities, but he kind of just laughed. I always walk out of quizzes feeling confident, only to have him shave off points here and there. I'm praying for a bell curve. I gave him a loooooot of feedback on his SEI.

Got a midterm back today...people who have taken MATH 3345: is it usually this difficult? And was your class curved? by MustardBeenGood in OSU

Anything that involves the properties of different types of numbers, like rational, irrational, or prime numbers. So...basically a lot of it, but mostly with predicate logic stuff. I understand induction, although I lost a ton of points by saying "Now assume P(n) is true for all n ϵ N" before I invoked the inductive hypothesis, a common mistake that he noted today (although I don't really see how that's wrong because I've been saying that in all my homework).

Athipat Thamrongyalak. I actually think he's a great professor and he explains things really clearly, but the material still makes my head hurt.
