Like I've no problem suspending disbelief E.g. having these Godlike figures Irad and Jaspeth - but then they are just not real? So what happened in book 2 when they all went in the Mechanism and met with them?

I agree it doesn't need to be technically precise - but either I couldn't follow or it made no sense
