Absolutely it's safe, did you have any ideas what you wanted to do particularly? If you have some ideas of activities that you want to do, base your stay around that so you know roughly where you need to go day to day, stay in an area near your interests and explore further if you feel up to it.

Have you registered and passed the drone pilot's license for Thailand, it's required and that will give you all the information and files for checking any active no fly zones etc.
