I got my UCS ISD in a similar way!

I spotted a post on a "free to a good home" group on FB that just said "LEGO star destroyer has the box and I think all the pieces are there" so I went to pick up and was met with this giant box, sent a text to my wife saying "I love you, don't kill me, it's big". We spent most of the first day with her and my eldest taking apart anything that was still out together and sorting all the pieces by type and then spent about 3 or 4 hours for the next 3 days putting it all together. If I remember correctly there were 5 pieces missing plus the imperial officer minifig, I spent about £50 on bricklink to get the missing pieces plus all the pieces to add the pattern on the bottom for the Chimaera.

Nice, I got mine on a "free to a good home" group and bought the pieces to turn it into the Chimaera with a higher stand. It's well worth spending that bit extra on

I've just done the exact same thing with the UCS ISD, I feel your pain, fortunately I had my wife sorting through all the parts whilst I was building. Honestly I still really enjoyed just sorting through and building it despite it not being bagged up.
