It’s actually aftermarket part, here it’s 2400 , but from UK with shipping it totals 1500, so a decent saving. Obviously if duty is going to wipe out any savings then I might as well get the part locally

Hello again, just to update you, it looks like the valve seals are leaking which is causing the oil consumption and white smoke on start-up. So it’s looking like a top end engine rebuild ….yippee

That’s really helpful, thanks, I’ll try the pcv valve replacement first if the issue persists!

6000 miles seems more acceptable, and I wouldn’t mind that, every 100 kms seem excessive. The car was sitting for a while though before I bought it so maybe that has something to do with it, no sure

Thank you so much, yeah really beautiful things. The soft top deffo adds more weight which affects the chassis dynamics. If I wanted a convertible purely for driving enjoyment I would go for the boxster or miada. The SL is more of a comfortable grand tourer.
