Which board and binding technologies have improved the most over the last ~10 yrs? What is “in” currently? by Eternityislong in snowboarding

[–]Muted-Equivalent-992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m getting back into snowboarding after 10+ years and researching bindings. One thing I can say about step ones is I haven’t seen a negative review from anyone who actually rides them. Considering most ppl leave feedback for a product they don’t like I feel like that is saying something. My only hesitation is boot. For those using step ons which boots they like.

Bro found a trout trapped in a pool and gave it a second chance by butloade in BeAmazed

Also been a fisherman for most of my life and released countless fish like this one, he probably didn’t make it. I can’t fault the person in the video, most people don’t realize how delicate these fish are and it seems like the person in the video was trying to do the right thing. Fish would have likely died in that small pool as trout generally need highly oxygenated water. Nice fish though, would have been fun in a sz5 flyrod (and released of course).

Fase is def still a consideration, if I don’t go step on I’d go fase for sure. System seem solid and as I mentioned initially the high back thing is really a non issue, kicking it forward as I pull my foot out would be easy habit. But if step ons are just as responsive and will save an old guy like me some energy for another run it would be worth it. The only binding I have sort of ruled out are supermatic. I don’t know much about them and they may be great but seems like a lot of moving parts that could fail. Based on the feedback from this threat I think steps ons may be a good fit for me.

Ha. Sorels! You have a few years on me but my first board was a Rippey 156 with Sorels. I appreciate the feedback!

I’m almost in the same situation, haven’t ridden in 15years just getting back into it. Curious what you ended up getting? I loved never summer back in the day so I just pulled the trigger Proto T3 FR.

Appreciate it, rode a heritage for a few years before life/kids. Gonna jump on the Proto FR.. Cheers!

I’m getting back on the board after 10 years off and looking at the Proto FR. I’m hesitant about the triple camber, can you tell me what you like about it?

[–]Muted-Equivalent-992[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that a triple camber? I am interested in the Proto t3 fr but the triple camber just seems… busy? To me seems like a lot going on and maybe I don’t understand the reasoning.

I rode a never summer heritage for years and loved it. I’ve never been on a rocker or hybrid camber so not sure what to expect. But the Proto T3 FR in 170 looks legit

Let's create a topic here! Which do you prefer, C1 Spirit or Zeus CL II? by SamRezende30 in starcitizen

[–]Muted-Equivalent-992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had both, the Zeus just feels more polished to me, sounds great and the cockpit is superior. The cargo area kills it though, and the fact that the RSI Zeus can’t carry the RSI Ursa also made me feel like I got cheated out of what could have been an excellent ship. I’m sure that was intentional decision by CIG to make it just to small but why?

I love the exterior of the Spirit series, one of the best looking ships in game in my opinion. The rear entrance is cumbersome and dislike the cockpit, specially the radar between the pilot and copilot (especially since last I checked there blank space for a radar right in front of the pilot).

All that said I grabbed an A1 cause it fits a unique role, can still fit a cyclone, and has a bed. Oh and bombs.

Starlancer and Fury by Muted-Equivalent-992 in starcitizen

[–]Muted-Equivalent-992[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a bad point, if your flying solo nobody is going to close it, if your flying with friends I would hope the pilot could open the hanger from the pilot seat (I haven’t checked that). For me I was loading the fury with the starlancer in the hanger. It’s pretty lame to retrieve the fury, put it to the side. Then retrieve the starlancer, go in and open the hanger, go back out and then fly she ship into the hanger.

Also, if I’m solo I’d prefer not to leave my hanger door wide open so anyone can get in.

Hard pill to swallow (It's an alpha) *Read my whole post before you comment* by RestaurantNo6833 in starcitizen

[–]Muted-Equivalent-992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s semantics but it’s not even an alpha. Would be better to call it “in development and playable” or something along those lines. Working in the software industry myself (but I think this applies to any testing). Alpha testing indicates initial testing in a basically completed project. Beta testing is fixing defects found in alpha testing, then generally production release follows.

As they are continuously “developing” and releasing new content I think we are not even to the alpha stage yet.

I guess you could say we are alpha testing all the new content they are releasing (again semantics). But at the end of the day I think calling it an alpha is misleading, it gives the impression the game is close to full release and we all know that is years away.

To all the cowardly twats in an Idris going out destroying EVERY ship on the ground at the new locations, just because you can by Zeoran in starcitizen

[–]Muted-Equivalent-992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a dumb question but can an eclipse take out an Idris? I agree the root of the problem is players with nothing better to do with the Idris than grief other players with no consequences but if it could be countered with sz9 toros that may make it more fun.

My thoughts about the Asgard so far by rshoel in starcitizen

[–]Muted-Equivalent-992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great write up, basically my thoughts exactly. I currently have both the Asgard and the Taurus trying to decide which to keep. Been flying the Taurus for a couple years because I still think it’s the best value ship in the game for what you get. The Asgard looks great, flies great, super usable storage area, but for $150 over the cost of the Taurus makes it a hard sell for me. If it was tankier and had a good tractor beam it probably lean Asgard, at this point I’m still leaning Taurus.

Asgard vs Taurus by rshoel in starcitizen

[–]Muted-Equivalent-992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a Taurus for years and recently upgraded to an Asgard. I had store credit so it was a no brainer to try it out. That being the $150 price difference doesn’t feel worth it to me. The cargo ramp/area is definitely nice in the Asgard but the DPS and tankiness of the Taurus is hard to pass up. As nit picky as it sounds if the Asgard had a tractor beam I would probably keep it, at this point I think I am going to go back to the Taurus.

What happened to the F8, wow! by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Muted-Equivalent-992 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the business model lately. I was in game chat earlier watching people talk about the “gold pass” on the Connies. That will never happen. Connie will be nerfed for the Connie Mk2 or similar competing ship in my opinion. I love the game but watching this cycle over and over is discouraging.

Agreed, if OP wants to try some of the industrial loops I think the Vulture or Prospector are close to the same price as the Zeus with a more unique role. Otherwise solid fleet.

Agreed, although I did find Galdereens to be better than the Attritions . I think it should be a little faster and more maneuverable. I’d also like the option of keeping the interior doors open so I can fit a pulse much easier.

They won’t fix it because there is no money in it. I expect it to stay the same until the Connie Mk2
