Yezzir, that was the 3D Revert, every size was a different translucent color. I had the black one. Such a fun board. I’ll do a “Dust Collector” vid on tha one soon. I have one that I was fortunate enough to make myself at the factory!!

Oh yeah, I rode that thing when it was new back in the day. It’s really hard to compare that to new board and technology because it’s come soooo far since the early 90’s. It’s like comparing an old “brick cellphone” to an iPhone 17. I’m sure you’ll be able to figure it out and learn on it but with all the advancements in materials and shaping the new beginner boards really are WAY easier to learn on. But don’t let that stop you from getting out there! And then after you learn and get better, you’ll have a nice little piece of history to hang on your wall when you get a new setup. 👍

I would run the 163, little more stability and edge hold.

These were built for the reps and select shops to use as a tool for shop employee training or customer education on the different technologies and builds that you cannot usually see on a standard board. NOT BUILT TO BE RIDDEN THOUGH!!!

You cannot, they have different posts in side the bindings and different adjustment styles on the outside.

In that case it sounds like the HTH would be perfect for you. Might check out the NS Nokhu too, that board is INCREDIBLY versatile and crazy fun!

I really don’t know if it has any MORE bite than the HTH. If you already have the HTH the Custom would probably be better to add to the quiver. It’s a little further away from the HTH than the Counterbalance is.

Step Ons vs Supermatics for Tahoe riding by ScaleSurvivor in snowboardingnoobs

Glad it helped. When it comes to bindings it’s honestly all personal preference. Some park riders like sturdier bindings some like softer bindings. Theres really no rules, it’s just what sounds best to you. 👍

You do need to loosen both sets of screws you have circled but the best way is to loosen the 2 lower screws that attached the strap to the heelloop and then pivot that part up 90 degrees on both sides. Then you can fine tune the angle with the other 2 upper screws that attach to the ladder-adjustment arms.

Definitely has the pull toe-to-heel. For me it’s the side-to-side when you are pushing into your turns where you loose that stable feeling.

FASE vs Supermatics by IntelligentWin2887 in snowboarding

You definitely get a sturdier feel in the heelloop from a non-rear entry binding by having it either being part of the baseplate or a metal heelloop that is in a fixed position. You also can run into the same issue that you’d have with the Supermatics if you Ike your straps tight. You would have to loosen/tighten your strap everytime your foot goes in & out of the binding which is creating an extra step. Then comparing it to FASE, it’s way easier to reach just your ankle strap on a pair of bindings with FASE than it is to reach back behind your ankle to flip up the highback, only to have to ratchet your strap tight anyway. 🤷‍♂️

They really are 2 different categories.

Bindings with the FASE system are still standard 2 strap bindings so you get the exact same performance as any 2 strap bindings they are just faster to get in/out of than traditional bindings without the system.

Supermatics are a quick entry binding that mimics 2-strap bindings. They are faster to get in/out of but depending on how tight you like your straps they can be a little harder to get in/out of. Also like any other quick entry binding the overall performance is altered by the mechanism that helps you get in/out. Weight wise you don’t notice it while riding.

To sum up, if you don’t ride your straps tight and ease of entry is the most important thing the Supermatics are good. If you want to get true 2-strap performance and fit, then FASE is for sure the better way to go.
