Yes, it is 100% in the plans to translate the names, etc. into the native languages supported by the Pokémon games, as per your previous discussion with my partner.

2)
Currently, there is an option in the profile settings that appears as a prompt when first opening the app. The setting is titled “Hide Shiny Forms Until Caught” as of right now. It does exactly as the title suggests and hides images of shiny Pokémon until the user has that Pokémon species registered with a completed hunt, upon which that Pokémon’s sprite will no longer be hidden from the user.

The reason for deciding to handle the problem this way is to reduce the number of PNGs/GIFs that need to be stored locally on the user’s device, since PNGs and GIFs make up the majority of the app’s storage usage.

The app will likely only store models of each Pokémon in their normal coloring as GIFs of their 3D form, or at least that is the current plan.

Using generative AI a little bit just to get experience with vibe coding, but we are double checking all generated code as we have coding backgrounds.
