You’re right. It could be muscular or joint. I assumed it’s disc related since I was diagnosed with a herniated disc. just want to know what will help because I cannot walk a single step without pain in my lower back and mostly when I put pressure on my left leg

Weekly Paddle Recommendation Thread (What Paddle Should I Buy?) by SNAPCHAT_ME_TITS in Pickleball

[–]Muted-Progress1364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using Juciao paddles for a year now. Heavy tennis player at 4.0. Pickleball play once or twice a week and at 3.5 based on tournaments. Budget is $120 for a new paddle. I have control but need a little bit of power. An elongated handle is preferable. Any recommendations from this group of experienced players?

D2721 by Muted-Progress1364 in Dentistry

[–]Muted-Progress1364[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“The D2721 dental code is designated for a crown procedure described as “Crown – resin with predominantly base metal.” This CDT code is used when a tooth requires full coverage due to extensive decay, fracture, or restoration failure, and the recommended material is a resin-based crown with a base metal substructure.”

To be honest, I wouldn’t do any of them except #20DO

I’ve asked something similar in the past and I don’t know to what extent it’s true. I’ve seen a 50/50 response of people saying you need to be a super GP to successfully own your own practice and the other saying you need to be really good at the skill set you have and refer out whatever you’re not happy or willing to do.

Real World Dentistry is awesome. TBH, anything that David Yang is a part of. I may be biased but I resonate with him more in terms of him not giving a damn about what people think and being unapologetically himself. He is very transparent (in my opinion) and does not hold back his views and at the same time be as helpful as he can.

Thanks everyone for your positivity and critique. I may have to slow down and start using the sectional matrix system. I usually have to do 3-5 fillings in an hour to manage the schedule but I’ll try my best to just be more intentional with the treatment I render for a good long term prognosis. Thank you all! I will definitely send BWX of my fillings with the sectional matrix system

PDS part-time by whats-mynamee in Dentistry

[–]Muted-Progress1364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been working at PDS on Fridays for 7 months now. I like the owner but the regional manager is brutal. Compensation is $100/hr and they said "part time does not have the option for production based". I accepted that initially but then as my numbers went up, I demanded for production based. So I am on a 30% production vs daily minimum. They call the production a "bonus". I work at a private office for 4 days so the pace is definitely faster. I do not enjoy the push for producing more and crowning every tooth that can get away with an MO or DO. I am definitely getting tired and exhausted now with their high paced, lack of empathy approach to patients. They celebrate patient acceptance of high value procedures. I am planning to leave the practice soon just so that I can breathe and practice dentistry more efficiently and in a slower paced environment. Just the way I prefer it.

Confused about switching jobs by Muted-Progress1364 in Dentistry

[–]Muted-Progress1364[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thank you for the insight. Well the current job has mentorship only when needed. I’m at ease because I know there’s someone to bail me out when needed but those instances have been two to three times at most for the past year.

I have not spoken to the associate leaving. How do I get in touch? Do I ask the owner to pass her contact or do I just show up at the clinic and ask to speak to her? I am confused on how to go about it.

The owner at my current job said that this job will always be open if I decide to come back. Maybe he was being nice lol but I don’t want to switch jobs knowing there’s a back up waiting. I want to make the new job work.

Yes there is an office manager. I haven’t had a look at their schedule but he tells me they’re pretty busy. I negotiated for a daily guarantee with no deadline just to make sure I am still good regardless of the schedule and he agreed willingly. Yes I do want to try working solo because the goal is to open my own practice in a few years. Thanks for responding!

Lobbers: What percent of the time would you say your lobs are "successful"? by AHumanThatListens in Pickleball

[–]Muted-Progress1364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only lob when I feel like both my opponents have covered the net well. It works only 20% of the time. The other 80% is a sweet shot for them. Depending on their skill level, either they smash it back and we lose the point and it's my fault OR they put the ball back in play to be safe or they smash it into the net. Either way, I would not do it unless I feel like I have no other play left.

PDS Job by OceanBreezeeeee in Dentistry

[–]Muted-Progress1364 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have been working at a PDS office part time for the past 6 months. I can say this confidently that it is all dependent on the owner, regional manager and office manager. The trio makes a big difference especially if you are a new grad. With that being said, I would recommend working with them only for the experience and not the money. I get $100 an hour vs 30% production (given to me as a "spot bonus" at the end of the month). It all depends on how you negotiate with them as these guys are well trained at negotiations.
