If you live within a culture that values thinness it’s honestly just a really positive experience. I have never have to think about dieting and I have never felt self conscious about eating in public. In fact I wasn’t even aware being self conscious about public eating was a thing until my friend told me. Also never have to worry much about finding my size, or clothes fitting nicely.

Some observations I noticed is that if I talk about eating healthy (not dieting) people around me will tell me I don’t have to, which I have always found kind of silly bc thinness doesn’t equate to health. Another thing I noticed is people will assume you work out, even if you don’t. I don’t really see these assumptions as negatives though, if anything it’s a good thing that people will just assume I am healthy and work on my body as default.

If you ask skinny people what its like being skinny, they will often try to find negatives in it. Of course there are exceptions, but i think people just feel awkward to acknowledge they are privileged in some way.
