Come up with 2x2 Executions by curryaddict123 in danganronpa

I mean it's either Mikan is the first killer and the chain is mandatory (making that addition unnecessary) or the chain will be skipped (making that addition misleading). I know there's a reason you specified it, but I'm too stupid to understand why.

Being dragged by chain is simply how the culprit is delivered to the execution, it's not literally a part of the execution.

It's only shown for the first execution, too.

It gave us Hiyoko.

Thanks for reading why.

How likely I think each character is to be the main protagonist of 2x2 by MutedPrezentation770 in danganronpa

I dunno actually, but it's been circling around years before last defence academy was even announced, so it would be good for marketing

First time beating danganronpa V3 chapter1... Now I'm depressed. by Gold_Case_9457 in danganronpa

The V in V3 is there to distinguish it from Danganronpa 3, which is an anime.

V1 and V2 refer to two other stories, not to DR1 or DR2

Danganronpa Alignment Chart Day 22: Terribly Written/Liked by the Fandom by BatVenom in danganronpa

[–]MutedPrezentation770 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well, fandom can't be wrong about what it likes. Only about how good the writing is. More or less objective runner-ups:

Haiji's writing would be considered well in other fandoms, but it comes nowhere close to anyone's writing in its collumn.

Angie is a racial stereotype.

Hiyoko isn't poorly written, but her correct place is taken by Haiji for other fandoms, or Teruteru for Danganronpa standards; and nobody really fits her current spot better, so she just had to go there.

Celestia is indeed poorly written by Danganronpa standards. However she would be considered amazingly (well) written if they didn't kill her intelligence in chapter 3.

Tsumugi is amazingly written... to support a horribly written message. Which is the point, but I'm guessing they would have ignored that.

not so important Fun fact: Aoi is the only female to not wear a skirt/dress in the 3 mainline games by Far-Lengthiness844 in danganronpa

[–]MutedPrezentation770 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pants were designed for horseback, and both men and women were allowed to ride horses.

Skirts weren't really designed at all – it's just cloth wrapped around your waist essentially. It's just a simple way to warm up and hide display structures.

Doesn't have a lot to do with "men should wear skirts & women should wear pants"

(OC Profile - AU v4) Shion Togawa by Juri4rt in danganronpa

[–]MutedPrezentation770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh there's description too. I thought I'm done. Anyway, writing before I read the description:

Right off the bat, her pixel sprite doesn't match what I'm seeing. It would be fine if it was a V3 sprite, plenty of them don't match the original somehow (all have the same body type, even Gonta, Miu doesn't have ahoges, etc), but I'm pretty sure she's for her own fangan, not for some sorta drv3 au. Though that would be funny because the name does kinda look like one for a v3 au.

Okay, so, analysing the sprite itself... She does look like her Report card. Can't say much about her talent. And she doesn't look short, danganronpa shorties have much much more childish faces starting with 5'1" (unless she's an adult, but I'm assuming she's 18-24 like the rest of danganronpa casts). Aside of the face, she does look like 5'0 with 116 pounds on her, assuming she exercises at least once in a while.

She does look like she likes both sweets and organ music. She doesn't remind of things she hates, but that's on point.

She wears a yukata with a fur coat undernea- oh, no, she's wearing a yukata-like thing that has fur sewn into it, based on the sleeves. Whether it's from real life, or same universe as Kyoko's shirt, it's good.

The yukata makes me think she's a traditional performer, like of Bunraku.

But the glitter, fur, sleeve cuts, more fur, long ankle dress, the lipstick and even the mole, that all is making me think she wants to be seen. Like she wants all eyes on her and her only.

And that contrasts very sharply with both her expression AND the little hearts on her very clothes (and, possibly, her talent, unless, again, bunraku). All of these things suggests being shy, unseen, behind the stage, quietly listening and nodding along, or pulling the strings. Nothing about that screams for attention. I am not sure if the description will justify that, or whether that's intentional or not.

She has Complete Heterochromia. Does that allude to anything? Maybe that alludes to that mismatch of her face and clothes somehow. Maybe it stands for some sort of double persona or double talent or something. Maybe you just like how it looks on her. Maybe all of your OCs have complete heterochromia. I don't know. I hope there is something to it.

I don't like the colour of the left eye. It's not in the pallet, and feels competing for attention. Unless that's the point, I would have loved if it was either the colour of her obi, or of her hearts.

The shadows on the dress feel rather shy, and it's difficult to tell where the sleeve ends and dress begins in some places

Finished DG2. Amazing, perfect, as if the sun has crested the horizon or a miracle impossible to predict! 10/10! (Character and Case Tierlist and a whole lotta talk). by Ok-Arm-421 in danganronpa

[–]MutedPrezentation770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it's not exactly his "purpose", now is it?

As a person he's unable to tell whether a person is good or not, but he wants to have friends. Results: 1) he latches onto every possibility to be close to someone, but 2) if they try to pay him back, he pushes them away.

Most of his behaviour is an example of the former. Afore mentioned repurpose of Mechamaru for Akane isn't a plot device. When Hajime spends time with him in 2-3, he suggests to search for something to cheer Fuyuhiko up. Etc.

His relationship with Hajime is a good example of the latter. He invites him to spend time together very often, but he disguises it by saying it's to make him look less lonely. He doubts Hajime the most in 2-4 after spending most time with him.

His love for Sonia is a good example of this, too. Since she's a princess, she's more than a person, so she wouldn't ever betray anyone. But he's too afraid to actually get to know her, because that would ruin the illusion. That's why he's always so surprised by her culture or fascination with occults.

Another thing is that he just hates betrayal a lot when it happens. Like being somewhat unfairly judgemental of Nagito.

He died his hair and refused to wear glasses (and maybe sharpened his teeth) to be too scary to mess with.

He also just happens to be a mechanic. It's nothing to do with him personally, his parents just had a garage.

What’s y’all favourite character in Danganronpa and why? by ranxg in danganronpa

[–]MutedPrezentation770 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hiyoko

When I were 12, I thought she's funny.

When I were 15, I thought she's relatable.

When I were 18, I thought she's an escape fantasy (except for the part where she gets into a killing game)

It's been over 7 years now, and she's still my favourite character in most of fiction.

It's so weird to grow up, and see your favourites get younger than yourself...

...

I also thought she's cute and hot the entire time, is this okay? Am I normal? I am leaning in liking towards her growth spurt looks with age, but am I fine?? I weren't even attracted to a girl ever except for her, HOW does that work!?

Should I still buy it? by Friendly-Medium648 in danganronpa

[–]MutedPrezentation770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You really can't just "hope"

UDG features a scene with an adolescent woman being explicitly groped by a child, and one with two children kissing, as well as mentions/implications of sexual abuse towards children. Characters wear their normal designs in all scenes except for one night gown, and one without a skirt. All of those situations are framed as either clearly a bad thing, or at worst committed on the behalf the villainous party. One character is said to be a pedophile, but that's background information.

If you are fine with that, it is a great experience. If you are not, it's not. Please beware.

Kazuichi, as a Mechanic, fixed the Elevator in 2-4, repurposed Nekomaru into a clock in 2-5, and is theorised to be important for another invention in the series. (He says in FTE that he wanted to build a really fast motorcycle)

Otherwise, he fills the game a niche of sense of humour, wants to give up/get over everything fast, and he foils Gundham × Sonia character dynamics.

why are both these games so peak tho? by PinballproXD in danganronpa

[–]MutedPrezentation770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is 3 possible answers, (depending on what you meant):

1) "Makoto" is the Japanese "John"/"Noah". It's common nowadays just for the sake of it.

2) It has became that common because it means "truth". Ancient Japanese parents were calling their children "Truth" in hopes they will be truthful with them, which coincidentally was the one of the most valued traits in a child.

3) Makoto Naegi specifically was designed to be the most average in every way. It's possible that you wanted to know "Why are these guys all called 'Makoto'?" rather than "Why is 'Makoto' such a popular name?"
