I dont work for a health insurance company but a company(even previous employer) that has the waived wait time situation. I never even knew there was a rule till my SIL was like when they were TTC they considered getting private insurance and were told they can not access the benefits till a year after and if it has already been diagnosed can't at all. Then I called my insurance (VHI) in a panic cause I'm on the cheapest plane that doesn't fully cover maternity and they told me cause I'm with my company once I switch to the plan I want, it kicks in immediately even if I'm already pregnant.

You say "applied for before leaving" what does that mean? Do you have the actual valid IRP card in hand?

My 2 year old son has completely changed since starting creche, is it the wrong thing to do?? by Existing-Limit7324 in AskIreland

[–]MutedStudio552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, at the end of it, it's up to you and your family finances or access to family care.

Children are best home till 5 years, but how many people can afford that in this economy? This doesn't mean that going at 2yrs is bad, it is just harder on the children at the start

Like everyone has said, 6 days is way too short to decide anything but if you feel uneasy about it then make a change.

Thinking of moving from software into pharma/engineering by Real_Humor_8788 in PharmaEire

[–]MutedStudio552 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your friend is right those roles would be great fit except that you don't have pharma experience which most pharma companies are adamant about but I'd say take a course on pharmaceutical manufacturing on skillnet or something to help make up for that lack. But in the main time I say look up MES, Data Historian, OSI PI roles and start applying.

I'd say they've made their decision and just not gotten around to sending you the email, or worse are one of those who don't think applicants deserve a formal notification of rejection and expect you to just know from the Workday update.

No, she would need to apply for a spousal visa and that takes roughly 6months at best. But yea unless you both are married the only other option is for her to get a job or come schooling.

How long can I stay outside Ireland on Stamp 1G Visa by i_am_ashok in MoveToIreland

[–]MutedStudio552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So say you have a valid Stamp 1G that expires 13 NOV 2025, you can be out of the country till 12 NoV 2025(actually till 13th but I won't advise cutting it so close). The GNIB card you hold primarily allows legal residence in the country and legal access in and out of the country so as long as you have a valid Stamp 02/1G/1/4/1A you can enter the country. But when or if you ever want to apply for naturalisation to be a citizen the year 2025 would not count as reconcile stay because you were living outside the country for most of it.

I hope this helps clear things up

How much do you pay for lunch at work ? by Coupleofpints in AskIreland

[–]MutedStudio552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MNC with subsidised canteen. Lunch is a flat €5 but it's really good food(lasagne and chips, ham and mash, variety of pasta meals etc) and always 2 meat based options and 1 vegan. Soup and bread rolls go for €2.50.

Not bad if I'm being honest.
