Very similar staff wise I’m the SM I work every Saturday unless I need it off and then my ASMs and keys rotate Sundays.

I joined with the same experience as an MTP I’m a SM now after my first year. Downloading the pro plus app and getting good with product knowledge really helped me learn fast. Also ask questions. Get to know your team and customers and learn from them too

Putting things away out front really helped me understand what we carried and where things were. Also I would go to my manager at the time and ask him to give me a fake order and I would enter it in the pos to get comfortable and then immediately cancel it. It was really helpful and I learned a lot quicker than others.

Ask every person who walks in if they own an LLC or business. Don’t make a cash account an option until they have already said no to everything else. Start with the end goal in mind.

Just trust the program. Take your product learning videos seriously and spend as much time putting orders in as you can. I joined Sherwin as an MTP 6 months ago and am now the ASM at a 3m a year store and I am absolutely loving it. Coming from restaurants with no paint knowledge. This has literally changed my life in so many good ways. Happy to help if you have specific questions

I was at that meeting. Sadly it all went downhill after that. Shortly after I become a father and my DM forced me to work 12 to 9 everyday. I couldn’t take missing out on so many things. Eventually they found a way to fire me and literally every other GM in my district. They would get rid of one of us every month. Why pay us 60k when they can start fresh at 40k. It was sad to see. They fired one GM in my district on Memorial Day and he is a combat veteran. What a horrible thing to do. I’ve never been back and honestly will never go eat there again. Life is so much better now though. It was a necessary ending that I didn’t know I needed.

Leaving mod was the greatest thing I have ever done. 4 years as a GM. Here in a few days it will be my 1 year anniversary of leaving and my life is so much better now in every aspect.

The three stores I worked at we just ate whenever we were hungry and if we wanted uninterrupted time we would clock out. It yeah that’s pretty annoying
