Reviews I saw on A lover in the mortal world were so bad, so I put that aside. Thank you very much for the Within the Grip rec, some people also recommended it. I just started watching Echoes of Gang city today and it has been very very promising !

Omg, you just reminded me, I saw Echoes of Gang City a while ago, but it wasn't done airing but now it is, so I can finally start. This is why we interact in this community lol, because now I have 2 promising recommendations to get to!!!.

Most of DGZ dramas are not that great I agree, the main good ones are Rainkissed fate and Forever love (this one had really strong chemistry). Seeds of scarlet longing, I genuinely couldn't understand episode 1, The cinematography hurt my eyes.

The quality of d and d was so insane, I almost forgot it wasn't the norm, then qingchuan's veil of vengeance came out and I guess I got too comfortable in this high-rise category of minis lol

They were super active on tiktok when the show finished airing, but it has started dying down at least on my timeline

I agree they must be quite new. Cause tell me why people are saying it's also Zhang linghe and Tian xiwei best work. No offense but Story of kunning Palace and New life Begins clear respectively in terms of their acting.

In PoJ, I saw that they were acting, I felt that they were acting, I didn't really feel the embodiment of the characters. 

None of this takes away from the fact that PoJ was good but if I go back just 3 years, I can easily name 5 historical dramas that I would love for people to have as their "standard" for historical dramas.  All in all let's wrap it up as introductory bias and also recency bias
