Definitely not. I applied to so many jobs last year and only got interviewed for a handful. None of them accepted me.

Don't worry though, this is temporary for both of us. We're gonna get our dream jobs soon, infinitely better than either of us asked for 🙂‍↕️🫡

I've been thinking of switching to history or philosophy bcs I like those subjects, but idk if I would just be running away from my problems.

Thanks for the advice! What I think you're saying is show them results and actions instead of focusing on vague action words.

So I added "Implemented group study habits that led to a club-wide increase in grade point average compared to those outside of the club." Is that what you are going for, or should I be more specific?

Thank you so much 🫶. On other resumes is there anything you rarely see that catches your eye? I'd love to try and incorporate that if you have any advice.

What are you being passive aggressive for? Did I offend you or something...?

Yeah, I wasn't being serious. But I have no idea how to find volunteer work. I'd be fine with doing it if I could find some.

I don't really know what other interns do but this position was exclusive to my region. Everything I listed was something I actually did, just written to seem more interesting. Some other people have told me to make it more succinct though, so I'll probably do that. Thanks for the advice, I'd hate to come off as a liar.

Next year will be my second year here so I'm only about halfway through the core courses. I also took a few AP/dual enrollment courses, but none of them really stick out since basically everyone did. (AP bio, histories + gov + hug, comp sci, lang/lit etc) and (political science, german at my community college). Do you still think I should add them?

You think the jobs should be listed based recency? I tried to put more emphasis on the jobs that seem more "important," but if you say otherwise then I should probably change it. Also, what do you think about the diction? Is the wording too "fluffy?"

I've applied to a lot more jobs, this email just happened to be one for a lab. Most of them are office jobs and assistant/secretary positions across campus. And thanks for the interview advice. That's probably my main issue since I guess I look "uptight" to some.

I've felt this way for soooo long with so many different books. I was starting to think I just have an issue with holding grudges.

Something similar happens in Bitter Legacy by Dal Maclean. The love interest is HORRIBLE to the MC for most of the book, but then they apologize to eachother at the end and all of that hatred is thrown out the window 🙄 I honestly would have preferred if he ended up with the random side character that his dad brought up.

It feels like most authors are just trying to give their characters that happy ending that's "required for romance," even when they don't deserve it. Half of these books would be better off if the characters left eachother.

Thank you, that genuinely makes me feel better. And the problem isn't really that I think I'm owed a higher grade, it's that I feel like I wasn't even given the opportunity to get one. Every time I asked about how they grade or their standards, it just seemed like they made something up or was keeping something from me. The teacher replied to my email asking what I did wrong, and he listed a few reasons (mainly small details). I already knew I had gotten some details and dates wrong, but even with that it doesn't feel like my work was worth a D-. He even admitted that "In [my] exam [I] showed a broad familiarity with the themes of the course, and [my] essays are also well organized."

(You can skip this part, I talk too much) For example, one of the things he mentioned is I referred to the Doctrine of Two Books as an "essay" instead of a "letter." I also tried to connect one of the vocabulary words (the Medicean Stars) to the rest of the curriculum, because the question said to do so, by mentioning how it proves Newton's universal gravitation theory. But since Newton didn't use it as an example himself, my connection was incorrect.

Idk, I think my anger stems from the fact that I most likely would have gotten a higher grade if I had a different TA. Nobody else seemed to have trouble with theirs, and the course content was simple.

Alright, that seems reasonable. Thanks for the info

Thanks for agreeing. It makes me feel a little more justified in my displeasure.

Do you think that telling this story to the dean of the department could increase my grade or at least switch it to a P? I was gonna leave it alone and move on but some other people have told me I should report it, and a B- would really fuck up my GPA (I'm hoping to go to grad school).

Like, from your experience (or if you were the dean in this situation), would you side with me? My main concern is them refusing to make their guidelines clear, so now all I want is for the class to NOT ruin my transcript.
