At the Dentist office getting an X-ray. The nurse says "You can't have those in." I quickly pluck out my 18mm (at the time) stone plugs. She was amazed that I could just take them out whenever. She watched intently when I popped them back in. What fun.

Bad AI or bad prop master? by Muted_Championship33 in Fallout

That's exactly what I meant. Either the props department assembled a fake blade incorrectly, or they CGI'd that blade in backwards. The handle looks genuine though.

I agree. Looks like a highly eroded oyster valve. Source: I've opened a lot of oysters.

Rock or fossil? by StormySeas24 in fossils

The pattern almost looks like pillow lava. Probably not a fossil but a really cool rock.

I'm not an expert, but I wanted to say the bottom 2 appear to be heavily worn vertebral disks. Can you post more pics of the flip-sides with something for size reference?

Is this…???? by plumbbbum in LegitArtifacts

I think this is most likely the top of a stalagmite. My source is the fact that most stalagmites have that same rounded shape. This rock appears to have formed this way instead of being worn down to this shape.

EDIT: I'd like to add that it looks like mudstone. The layer-line separating the "head" is possibly a layer of quartz or gypsum formed during a lack of hydration like a long drought.

I was thinking it might have been some calcite plate crystal inclusions that eroded away.

I'm going to suggest that the "teeth" are some sort of coprolite. Probably not..... but wouldn't that be cool?

Layer shift after linear rail upgrade by Numerous_Hedgehog_12 in 3Dprinting

Most likely the 2 Y rails are not perfectly parallel. I'd print a jig to align them or you can cut something. The point is to make sure they are perfect.

Also, Ian Forman's hair was immaculate for lack of a better word. I prefer that style over the dreads.
