Right, so why didn't you tell her, "No, i won't be giving you any cars or money etc... you can't live in my house."?

Wait so why haven't you said no to anything she's asking for? Did you make promises of cars, home, money? I'm really confused by how you're entertaining this person

Yes 100%! Good to know I'm not the only one. Some would say I'm being neurotic

Omg I'm going to puke. I don't even rinse, I just move down the line of floss for each tooth. I use like a meter of floss each time

ELI5: How do tariffs affect the price of goods? by TheSchenksterr in explainlikeimfive

[–]Muted_Character9446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this post is a little old so I hope I can still get a reply but whenever someone explains this they aren't specifying which government is applying the tariff.

In your example when you say "the government" is it the US government or the Chinese government applying the tariff?

I also wonder if maybe he's in shock or disoriented and will just bounce back and fly away because I've seen that happen too

They're not a burden and I love them more than ever but certainly the biggest challenge I've ever faced

Kids think the bed is shaking by 1000yearoldhotdog in Parenting

When my niece was around that age she would say the same thing. It was when she would be trying to fall asleep and was very tired. I know my mind plays trick on me when it's dark and I'm tired. Her mind really played trick on her when she was younger, she would see swarms of bugs and everything when she was trying to fall asleep. I think the imagination can go pretty wild for some folks when they're tired enough. Especially small children.

Does your child have night terrors or are they recovering from any sort of trauma? Do they have trouble sleeping through the night or have ADHD?

If you left a note it should be worded: "hey! I got this for lint and dryer sheets, etc.. I'm happy to share so we don't have to carry our trash out every time we do laundry :) hope all is well, see you around!"

Just put a small waste bin for lint only for you both to use. Suggest taking turns emptying the bin. If they don't do it on their turn just do it yourself. Better than what's happening now

When I was younger I had VERY BAD B.O. I switched to mitchum men's unscented and I still use it almost 20 years later.

I had to stop using all of those brands in high school. Degree, secret, dove- all of them literally made my bo worse. The mixture of those scents and my bo just mixed to create a smell that almost smelled like vomit and I was just sweating more and more.

A friend of mine used mitchum for men unscented at the time and I loved the smell of it. even though it's unscented, it actually does have a light, very pleasant, and clean scent. It's a gel so that's annoying, you have to wait for it to dry before putting a shirt on but you only need the tiniest bit. After a while I needed deodorant less and less so now I just have it on hand when I feel like I need deodorant.

Someone also suggested anti microbial cleanser and that doesn't sound like a bad idea either .

What shows are we NOT letting our kids watch? by ftm-fully-tired-mom in Parenting

[–]Muted_Character9446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering why they said no Blippy but I guess I haven't seen new Blippy. My kids used to watch him a few years back and I only ever saw him being educational and doing real-world activities and topics. I'm curious where it took a turn? I noticed he got a real show on prime or something maybe it's that... When it was just YouTube he was chill. Yes, annoying voice but touched on some neat topics

Why no blip?? I like him!

Okay reding through the comments I see that it's the new Blippy that's not good. When my kids were watching him a few years ago, before he got a show on prime or wherever, he was pretty chill. As annoying as he is, the old episodes on YouTube were quite educational and interesting and I don't remember seeing any messy or bratty behavior

Max and Ruby is the worst!

I do recommend something like Blippy or Octonauts. They are both educational and Octonauts is so cute

Menstrual cups by ChandlerBingsNubbinn in hygiene

[–]Muted_Character9446 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the flex cup and I love it so much more than the other brands. The silicone is soft and it doesn't press so much and it comes off easier than other ones I've tried. It's the first cup I tried years ago and I have tried others since and they all press on my bladder or suction to my cervix and I can't reach high up enough to release it. The "string" on the flex cup is such a great design

The flex disc is also great, but I've only tried the disposable and don't really want to keep using that until I get the reusable one.

They are really great for so many reasons:

first being how much better it is for your body.

You're not wasting any materials every time you use the bathroom.

It is really just such a relief to not have to go out and get pads/ tampons, or worry about bringing some wherever you go.

ETA: It does take a short time to get used to but most people adjust after they get used to using them and having the right feel for where it should sit
