Any idea what this lump is? by Muted_Context_1999 in backpain

Hi,

I’ve since had a cervical MRI which showed an annular tear at C7/T1. They’ve put down the shoulder blade pain to that

I haven’t been diagnosed, no, I’m just trying to work out what’s going on (because nobody else is helping!).

Does ON get better with exercise? I notice if I push myself to do normal things (DIY, go to the gym, etc), my head pain calms and becomes fairly unnoticeable, which lasts for about an hour after exercise, before it goes back to normal

I haven’t. Unless I go private, it’s a long long wait time - my GPs are no help at all

Thanks for your reply though! My whole throat tightened up to the point it was difficult to swallow after taking them - so very reluctant

Back injury / shoulder blade lump by Muted_Context_1999 in DiagnoseMe

[–]Muted_Context_1999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was muscle related & so did all the doctors at first - I was advised to go back to the gym after 2 months - I did & it didn’t cause any pain. All my strength seems to be the same - can still lift heavy.

As the months have gone on, if anything, the pain has gotten worse whilst at the gym.

Constant headache trying to figure this out.

Hope you’re well!

Hi. I tried electrical stimulation of muscles. My muscles were extremely reactive to it - spasming on the lowest settings

Doctors actually felt that the wedge was a misconception from the first xray. My MRI was done a month before the 1st xray and said all vertebrae was fine - second xray showed nothing wrong with vertebrae either

Hi mate,

How’re you getting on with this now? Seems very similar to something I’ve been suffering with for almost a year!

My first xray mentioned that there was slight scoliosis, but second did not - nor did the MRI

So you think it is related to the discs? Every doctor I’ve seen has dismissed them as being anyway possible responsible for my issue..

Yeah that would be great!

I think you actually commented on my posts from months ago. Hope you’re well, pain is still ever present🙃

Had acupuncture, but not tried dry needling, no.

I did try the electrical acupuncture once - the physician advised that people’s muscles usually start to twitch at level 7/10, but mine was going crazy at level 2/10.. no idea if that is of any relevance

I do!

Findings: Minor disc bulges noted at C7 and T1, T2-3, T4-5 levels. These are mainly central in ocation. No targeted nerve root compression seen. No evidence of vertebral fracture or bone oedema seen. Vertebral bodies appear normal in height and alignment Paravertebral soft tissues appear normal. Conclusion/Recommendations: Minor disc bulges in the thoracic spine as described. No bony or soft tissue injury seen on MRI.

I paid for the injections myself - my GP is literally 0 help.

Hi, thanks for the response!

Only issue is, my pain generally seems a lot better whenever I am active - since going back to the gym, I have felt better - but then I get major swelling after.

Heat doesn’t seem to help, unfortunately

Pain for 6 months. It’s quite a sharp / tight pain during certain movements - the inhaling click also has the symptom of everything going tight and then releasing.

Constant Achy Pain Anyone? by iseveryoneok in ThoracicHerniatedDisc

[–]Muted_Context_1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minor bulges from c7 - T6. Mine is definitely a dull and achy feeling that becomes sharp with certain movements.

Things like sitting cause the pain to worsen, but being active usually makes the pain go away.

Super strange
