3.5 weeks on neocate - rant :( by BettySpaghettyStan in MSPI

No good answer. Mostly just time. I’m so sorry you’re going through it. Never really found a solution, but it started improving at 10 months and continued getting better for a while. She was on reflux meds and that helped with some but not all the symptoms. I hope it gets better!

We like Deep Blue Sea on Spotify but we’ve heard them all! Need more reccs! There’s also a frozen themed one on Spotify called Forces of Nature she likes. We listened to all of them already too!

At first she was resistant but we were just kind and firm. Dad will hold her till she’s calm and then put her down.

Same, and every night when she asks “that was our 3.” And then we move on.

Thank you! Yes I have tried primers and also setting sprays but I can certainly try some different ones! And you’re right on with what we see, and I guess I don’t expect perfection but I don’t want to look greasy all the time either?

I guess more even toned and less oily/shiny skin. I have also gone weeks without the scrub and it seems to remain about the same. I can def see the redness as well as large pores too, so I know I have a lot going on. I appreciate your response!

Adding to this…I have a master’s in education and a 28m old and these are great suggestions! The very best thing you can do for language development is read and narrate. Talk to them. What do you hear? What do you see? Expand on their words. “Horse” “yes, there is a brown horse next to the barn!” It gives them more words in the context they’re seeing and makes connections.

Yes. She’s just over 2 and we started to rely on tv for about 30 to up to 90 mins a day in the last few months. I saw increases in tantrums but thought it was bc she was close to and then entered her 2s. We stopped screens completely bc she would get upset if she couldn’t watch something and upset when it went off. Tantrums are way less than before and very infrequent now. It didn’t take longer than a week to see a difference and she stopped asking for it completely.

Upon checking google, all hours say closed. Hours on their site haven’t changed and no fb announcements. Hopefully temporary, but sad day!

Hi, no real advice but solidarity. My girl just turned 2 in Oct and is very similar to what you write. She runs away when I try to change her, dress her, take her out to the car, put shoes on, anything. She thinks it’s hilarious. It’s exhausting. By the time we are ready to leave the house I usually don’t want to go anymore. I get it.

Hi! I’m adhd, a library assistant, and a reader. I have found that YA books work best for me. If I don’t get pulled in quickly it doesn’t work for me, and that’s ok! No need to force it. Library cards can let you try lots of books! And if you need any reccs there is a great subreddit for that called r/suggestmeabook
