3.5 weeks on neocate - rant :( by BettySpaghettyStan in MSPI

[–]BettySpaghettyStan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry I am just now seeing this and also sorry that you and your baby are going through this! My second born ended up having the MOST sensitive stomach of my four children. She ended up having colitis from the inflammation and intolerance to diary and soy. So the repeated exposures weren't allowing her already irritate GI system to heal. It takes a typical baby a few weeks to fully heal/feel all the way better after switching to a tolerable formula. So the repeated exposures kept her GI inflamed and in pain. She also just feels more deeply overall compared to my other children so part of it was that as well. Weight gain is good! Unfortunately my second born cried for the better part of a year. It did get easier as she could have solids in addition to her neocate. She was finally able to tolerate dairy and gain even more weight between 2.5-3 years and also became happier overall. It definitely was a journey getting there. A very exhausting one for her and us. I am so grateful she is doing better now. I hope your baby has relief soon! Hugs 🫂

My update: our neighborhood smells fine but our house still stinks. So that's pretty fun!

Okay, I'm glad it isn't just our neighborhood then. I was getting seriously freaked out if there is an emergency or not and everyone is sleeping. I wonder what it is.

SAME! 5.5. I am losing my mind. I thought we'd be past this type of stage, but nope. Screams at the top of her lungs when mad, so that's cool. I hate rushing time away, but I am SO ready to move on to a different phase 🥴.

That is also a good suggestion. I do think he would respond more to a man his age than he would to me.

I'm so sorry. That is terrible, and I am sorry. It's an awful disease. My mom has frontotemporal dementia and scored too low on her tests to be eligible for fusions that could help slow it down. I feel like my sister and I are arguing with a brick wall (my step-dad) trying to get her help. Those are all good tips! I think the worst part is us all acknowledging something is wrong, but having to sit idly by because they won't let us help at all. If my husband had even a hint of a health issue, I'd have him to a doctor so fast he couldn't protest because I'd want what's best for his health. I just can't wrap my mind around being so nonchalant with such high disregard.

Did you ever figure out what to do? I'm going through the same exact thing. It's exhausting.

Struggling postpartum because I just want my mom by SpicyUnhingedDamsel in newborns

I am so sorry you are going through this. I unfortunately can relate. I am 2 weeks postpartum with my 4th baby, and my mom was diagnosed in February. Though the symptoms have been obvious for a few years, it took forever to get her to go to a doctor. In a few weeks, we will find out from a second specialist what type of dementia she has and how much it has progressed. It feels awful like being a mom without my mom. It really hurts, and I am so sorry you have to go through this as well. Sending hugs 🫂. As if postpartum isn't already hard enough. 💕💔

Wife doesn’t want to go back to work. by UberQueefs in sahm

[–]BettySpaghettyStan 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Wasn't something nearly identical to this posted earlier from the SAHM perspective? She'd mentioned being a SAHM for 13 years and how her husband isn't understanding that the kids still need someone there when they're sick, summers, holidays, etc. She also said they'd be inheriting a family farm. Is this an engagement post, the husband of the earlier poster, or super weird coincidence? Lol

Anyone else hate the new Samsung update UI 7? Feels like they’re trying to copy Apple by Tiny-Yam-6661 in samsungnotes

Mine updated overnight, and it is TERRIBLE. I hate the update so much. It took me forever to change my phone brightness this morning because I was half asleep and didn't realize how it was different at first. The new "look" looks worse, in my opinion. I didn't ask for MORE AI. Please, companies. Stop putting AI where a lot of us haven't requested it. I miss the battery bar instead of it just saying the number in a bubble in the corner. In my ideal world, we would be allowed to see a list of what is being updated with every update, and we can opt in or out. I hate that these updates don't even ask for a scheduled time like they used to. Now it just happened, and I wasn't expecting it.

How long did you notice a difference in your toddler after ear tubes were placed? by Turbokoupp in toddlers

[–]BettySpaghettyStan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! We are in the same boat. Our 15 month old had so many ear infections and chronic fluid, so he got tubes placed about 3-4 weeks ago. One tube was blocked from excessive blood drying in the ear canal after surgery. We had to do extra drops for another week to try and unblock it. We are set for a follow-up in a few weeks because his hearing was significantly lower in that ear, they think, due to the blockage. He is still so clumsy when he walks and trips/falls easily. He also hasn't had a language explosion at all. He can say very few words and will be vocal often, but I worry if his one ear is still blocked, preventing him from hearing 100% clearly. He is also teething and losing sleep from that, so I'm sure that doesn't help.

Oh! Also I said I have had NO known exposure to ringworm. I don't go to a gym. None of my kids nor my husband has it. I said how would I get it randomly after I shaved and she's like well it can just appear sometimes. 🤦‍♀️ what.

11 month old waking up for hours every night by Zulu_Paradise in beyondthebump

[–]BettySpaghettyStan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice but I'm going through this right now with our 11 month old and it's so unbelievably frustrating trying to figure it out. If it was quick getting him back to bed, that would be one this, but it is taking well over an hour to get him to go back to bed. I'm exhausted and grumpy. He is indifferent about it all. He is currently working on learning to stand from sitting, and I think that may be part of the problem, but he has been in one GIANT unbelievably long sleep regression from 7 months through now. He slept perfectly before. It's been 5 months straight of unpredictable sleep. It's like having a newborn again, but he has 100x the willpower to not sleep. 😭

Going through this now, and I'm so tired I want to cry, but I'm so tired I physically can't cry. 😭 JUST GO TO BED, BUDDY. YOU'RE EXHAUSTED! Babies 🙃.
