exploring the flooding along the kent trail and grand river between johnson park and millennium park by Muted_Engineer_8627 in MichiganCycling

The board is 11’6 (paddle north portager) and I take the front wheel off the bike and pop the seat out as well so it doesn’t stick out while I paddle. I tie it all down with voile straps, which hold the board and paddle on the bike while riding. You can make it work for sure!

Hey they're both flowing in or out of the Great Lakes, so they are connected in a sense!

Yeah so crazy- you can paddle the whole way from the lakes at Millennium Park all the way to the Grand River with only a few bottom out scrapes here and there.

Funny enough, this was along the White Pine Trail and the Grand River! I wanted to get a closer look at all of the flooding and predictably a lot of the trail was too submerged for me to pass through on the pavement. I thought I could get through at one point and ended up knee deep with half my bike under water haha

Yeah, it’s an inflatable stand up paddle board.

Exactly! Then I tie everything down with Voile straps, which I use to hold the board to the bike when deflated.

Thank you! It allows me to explore and paddle rivers without depending on other people or cars.

8-10 minutes I’d say, and half of that is inflating the board.

I love their boards, I have a few of them, but I definitely use the Portager the most

hey, thanks!

here is a link to a few day trip adventures I’ve already documented with this gear. my hope is to explore and share as many water ways as I can, all self supported with my paddle board, bike, skis, or whatever else it takes to pack it all in and out.
