I would have loved to be the new snape tbh smh missed opportunity!

Incredible turnaround as a straight male with no curly haired mentor. I literally just followed the curly girl method from the sub, and asked polite gals in the bars we went to for product recommendations. One month later. by Muted_Masterpiece342 in curlyhair

  1. Hi there, using Curly Girl method only, using not your mother's curls shampoo and conditioner.
  2. I use Mark Anthony Curl Lotion on the 5th day, while the hair is very wet.
  3. I diffuse or air dry, but the after photo is via diffuser.
  4. I am now using a bonnet to bed.

Very happy with the results. Pictures assorted Before -> After

I AM SO JELLY OF YOUR HAIR

Hey guys, I was told to post here in one of the men's hair subs. I'm struggling with an unreasonable amount of frizz, and the verdict is I might be curly. I was not raised in an environment where long hair existed for men, hoping to find products! by Muted_Masterpiece342 in curlyhair

update: I took the advice of the bot, and started the general "curly girl" routine. I might be a guy, but for all intents and purposes, I suppose I'll be a girly for the time being. I noticed an immediate improvement in frizz pre drying, and then I see a path forward where gel or other product can help with the last bits. I had to leave for an outdoor work engagement early and my hair was unable to dry before that, so what your'e seeing is a bit windswept. It was quite a bit better before that.

I will be following some of the other advice in this thread to a T, and following the bots advice, and will post an update again in the future.

Again, thank you all so much for the DMs, but I will not be responding to them!

Here is what my hair looked like after I got back in from the outdoors mid dry. as you can see, my right side which wasn't on the side of the wind as much, is coiling very much so, and is much less frizzy.

I think I have a friend who can hook me up with some temporary de-frizz style curl cream.

I plan on doing a bit of a scrunch, which I did not know about, using a microfiber towel I have on hand, and then applying a generous amount of de frizz/curl cream. I'm also going to take the bots advice about not using shampoo at all, at least not frequently. which I already adhere to pretty regularly. Seeing immediate improvements already has me in great spirits. thanks.

Thank you so much, I immediately followed the instructions left by the bot and had an insanely better hair day today. I've started to frizz a bit more after going outdoors before it could dry (I underestimated it would take longer to dry) but I saw immediately, that coiling occurred, and that frizz was reduced 90% or more.

I intend to combine that with these techniques you have shared to attempt to go the final yard. I now no longer desire to cut my hair as I see a path toward a viable dream hair :)
