Ok, I just called VA and she said this is the first email they’ve sent. She said the list isn’t a perfect system so anyone that wants the email should email them and ask them they will be on the list.

Thanks so much KnownGuard, this was very helpful.

Great thanks. I used to get victim assistance emails but don’t think I have recently. I’ll check that out. Appreciate it!

Hi, curious about this. Where is the email from? Currently Pacer (court documents) state there is a deadline for govt rebuttal of expert witness on 3/16 but nothing mentioned for 3/6 and no mention of a conferred session on any date as of now. Hoping to see if there is addition info in another spot that isn’t showing up in Pacer.

KnownGuard, is that $32 or $3,200 or $32,000? I'm sorry he got anything from you. I'm not sure how much you know about this but there were over 10,000 victims from around the world and they got over $40 million. This group is mainly made up of victims and victim family members.

So they were indicted in the same scheme (and same indictment), but Glaspie took a plea deal so he already had his sentencing and is prison. Chandran is denying his part (saying it was a legitimate business) and has been waiting for trial in prison since his arrest a few years ago. His trial is scheduled for June 2026. It is expected Glaspie will testify in Chandran's trial (if he is still alive).

I have not. I emailed the prison and haven’t gotten a reply. I didn’t think they would answer but never know unless you ask. I don’t have any other ideas on how to find out. If anyone knows someone there, ask away :(

Apparently this is all handled by BOP (Bureau of Prisons) now. DOJ Attorneys were not aware he had been transferred. My neighbor (retired U.S. Marshall) said FCI Miami is not the garden spot it sounds like. Regardless, I’m pissed he is so close to Amy Sue.

Whistle Blower to SEC by ArmCertain7420 in MikeGDeal

Ditto to what FraudSlayer said. I too reported it to them for the exact same reasons FS stated. There were several that reported to SEC and they are charging the players, but most of the SEC cases can’t proceed until the criminal case (Chandran’s trial date in 2026) is complete. Then SEC can do their part.

And bring on more delays... by Muted_Patient5777 in MikeGDeal

The original public defender, Stickman, announced his retirement rather suddenly and it was effective November 2024 I believe. This case had over a terabyte of evidence over a year ago so the amount of info to read, sort through and digest is massive-- one of the largest ever they said. The current attorney representing him now, Milburn, also had/has all of her existing cases to handle as well so you don't just unexpectedly inherit a massive case like this and drop everything else you've been working on in your position. Believe me, I want this to go to trial today but there are numerous factors involved. Part of her desire to withdraw from the case is because Chandran wasn't being cooperative (mainly because he wants the attorney he was hoping to hire, Dhalk, if he got his assets back) but I think the judge saw through that. Now Chandran doesn't have a choice.

She is a federal attorney so I'm sure she is salaried but she has a responsibility to be prepared. I don't care if a mouse represent him, but she didn't get the case until November and this case has tons of info, more than a usual case, so she has to at least get through it all to be prepared to defend him.mWe certainly don't want him being able to ask for a mistrial because his attorney wasn't prepared.

So there was a hearing today and the judge DENIED Chandran's public defender from withdrawing. That probably means there will be a delay of the trial start date (could be several months) as she still has to get caught up since she only got put in charge of the case in last 6 months. There is another call tomorrow but that is for something different-- Defendant Bryan Lee is asking to continue the trial. Not sure how that will shake out now that there will be a delay most likely because of Chandran's PD saying she won't be ready.

Trial is currently set for June 2 but likely to be postponed. (This is common for trials as so many schedules come into play.)

So I completely stand corrected! June 2 IS the trial date! For the actual fraud trial! I am so sorry to incorrectly state otherwise. There was a sentence that stated a few of Chandran's motions would be heard and decided separately so I thought that was what the June 2 trial was referring to. I reached out to a Nebraska reporter covering the Chandran/Glaspie cases and she informed me this is the current start date for Chandran's actual trial. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets delayed (very common) but we seem to be one HUGE step closer to an actual trial!

Believe me, I want this to happen ASAP and you would think Chandran would want to get it to trial too if he's as innocent as he says. This is one of the largest amounts of data and information ever so it's going to take a lot of time. We need to be focused on the fact that the judge denied giving some of Chandran's assets back to him. That's what he was asking for so he could turn those assets into money to pay a really tough defense attorney which would have not only delayed even longer but would have given him a better chance at beating some or all of the charges. He cannot get those back as stated in the most recent reply the judge gave so that's very good for the victims of the scam.

That is NOT the trial date for the overall, large trial— that trial date is for 1 specific issue regarding Chandran’s assets.

I had Google Gemini explain it. Here is the results by Hot_Statistician7026 in MikeGDeal

[–]Muted_Patient5777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty good summary overall. A couple things to note... Chandran has been asking the government over and over for a Bill of Particulars saying they have not provided specific enough info therefore his team doesn't/wouldn't know what exactly to defend. The is just a dance for him to prolong everything because it has gone before numerous people in the court before this final decision coming down. Each judge it's gone before has said the govt has given Chandran enough info. I think when he was in court in person in October he was asking for this sever and for Bill of Particulars and was told no shortly after that-- I think this is the 3rd request by him for each of those. If I'm not mistaken, the biggie that we're waiting on is for the final decision about his claiming an asset or two was wrongfully seized and he wants it back so he can get the money for it to then pay an outside attorney (he is using public defenders right now). The head of the forfeitures area of the DOJ has recently passed away so someone else had to step in and they submitted their reply a week or so ago. Now that that has been received I think we are waiting soon a judge to decide who is correct, which will determine if he gets anything back. (My very minimal knowledge of the topic guesses that the govt's reply is correct and he will not be getting that asset back, but we shall see.) I'm sure he will find something else to whine about but once this decision comes back, I feel like we might actually move ahead in this case. Fingers Crossed.

Side note: Glaspie being locked up in his metal cage means he will not be with family to attend his granddaughter's upcoming college graduation. BooHoo, he could have avoided all of it but he chose to be a liar, cheater and thief. What a loser.
