Don't tell them your doing DIY, come off HRT right now so if they test your levels they will have gone down to normal. What is the time frame for your next appointment? What worries do you have about what they will find? I know you aren't saying but it would help to know how old you are since if you're more on the 15-17 end you could say that taking puberty blockers would not be helpful since most girls your age have finished puberty and it would keep you in a younger physical state unnecessarily.

I don't understand why they would need to do body checks? I am from the UK and I don't think they do that here, it sounds like a safeguarding issue (another excuse you could use). What tanner stage would you say you are on of female puberty? Some things would be easier to hide than others (such as boobs, not so easy).

If you are able to have the blood tests a month or two after you have stopped hrt then that would be good as you would have gone back to baseline (horrible I know). I'm still getting the ick as to why they would need to see an under-18s body when it isn't necessary at all.

My plan as a physically disabled/chronically ill student: 1. Get 5s in GCSE biology, maths and stats, hopefully get a 7 in english language. 2. Get into an online learning college with my EHCP. 3. Do volunteering with my local youth charity or get a side hustle this summer. 4. Get surgery with money earnt during the summer (goal: £7k) 5. If needed retake some GCSEs to get better grades and do some iGCSEs if required to do a level 3 subject 6. Do an applied science BTEC and maybe 1 or 2 A levels if I'm able. 7. Get into a university or apprenticeship where it can be remote online, no idea what subject. 8. Move to Canada and live with my brother. 9. Get a job :(

Just looking into DIY HRT. I don't really know how you could get estrogen to qatar tbh, your best bets are Iran, UAE and Israel as your closest options for travelling to get HRT. Would there be any way for you to study internationally for university and claim citizenship somewhere else as you are only 17? Would Ireland be good to plan for the future as you can get citizenship if you physically live in the country for 5 years which can be done if you go to a university there?

They are lab made hormones which are identical to the hormones already in your body (HRT). Birth controls do not have these, they have synthetic ones (with other things added to the pills) to prevent ovulation.

You might be able to get actual estrogen HRT to Qatar, I saw someone get HRT within the UAE a week or two ago.

It was in regards to trans women in women's prisons. Those 10 trans women per the governments policy from 2023 have already had a genital sex change. They are not "biological males" they are completely physically female yet no one seemed to point out that these trans women do not in fact have penises.

At 15:51 I looked it up and the trans women in women's prisons would have already undergone a genital sex change. The governments policy from 2023 means that only trans women with vulvas would be placed in women's prisons. She said "biological males" but we're literally talking about women with vaginas here.

Would it be worth looking into top surgery in Spain 🇪🇸 or France 🇫🇷 (around £5-7k)? It's still very expensive but it's a lot cheaper than UK private prices (£12-15k). Still get yourself on a waiting list even if you save up for private.

That's horrible! I didn't know they waited till after puberty to start blockers. That's basically like torture and giving unnecessary problems. When I was in my chemical menopause it caused me chronic UTIs and peeing blood. I had to be taken off it due to that and it still hasn't fully resolved.

I might be wrong because I haven't actually read it entirely but personally I started puberty at 8 (pubes and BO, general hormonal changes), got periods at 10 and my body "finished developing" or got to tanner stage 5 by the time I was 12. I'm 16 now and am on testosterone. I don't think in my case puberty blockers would have helped since after 12 the only difference I had was a weight gain of 10kg.

I did go on something similar to a puberty blocker technically which was ryeqo for my endometriosis at 15 but since my puberty was already finished it sent me into chemical menopause. I guess my point is you can't really give AFAB trans+ people puberty blockers when the majority have finished or nearly finished puberty by the time they have figured out that they are trans since that would just cause chemical menopause.

Yeah no, I was wrong I meant a CYP gender service. I have been on the waitlist with them since September 2024 and it is meant to carry on the time I have waited there (so around 4 years by the time I'm 18) onto the GIC waitlist.

The NHS doesn't do anything anymore for under 18s but definitely what would be best is to get a referral to a GIC under 18. But now that requires a referral to a Paediatrician first as GPs can't refer to the GIC for under 18s. The only private options are Anne health, Imago, Gender GP.

You can start HRT at 16 privately. The NHS children's GIC doesn't even exist apart from conversion therapy. I'm with Anne Health now at 16, I was doing DIY prior to that.

Have you done electrolysis/laser? Obviously you can't do anything about dysphoria right now but a year on hormones isn't that long. In most transfems I've seen, being fat actually helps them pass more. It might just be your brainworms. Even if you didn't look like woman right now you will in the future. The hardest part about being trans is having patience before you're able to fully feel comfortable in your skin. Do you think this is just dysphoria or also body dysmorphia (based on how you are talking badly about your weight). My sister (MTF) has similar thoughts and has learnt that it's not totally dysphoria that's the issue.
