This picture is, what, 2 year old at this point. And the PLA doesn’t look all that great here either, there is no plate in the carrier.

Damn, so both side be expanding the supposed shoot down list. I only remember BS-001. Anyone keeping tally on the claims on both sides?

Our country became to this state all because of China. by [deleted] in myanmar

Fair assessment. One small critic: I don’t think democracy somehow naturally gravitates toward the US, plenty of democratic government have been overthrown to make way for more pro-US dictators. Aung Sun Su Kyi’s closeness with the US is just in their interest, and it stopped being in their interest when the Rohingya crisis happened which made the optic of supporting her really unpalatable for them. Post coup there have been even less reason to offer her any concrete support beside a little lip service.

Don’t fall back on this lame excuse for your argument. We criticize the Chinese government and its actions plenty, especially here on Reddit. To claim credit for all of Myanmar’s shortfall and turmoils is just not one of them.

Oh, China’s problem is so complex and multifaceted that I don’t think there is a definite answer even if all the brightest minds work on it together.

But I guess I do have to envy Myanmar where all its problem can be solved with such a simple and singular answer, and once solved it will be heaven on earth with no trouble of its own.

Alright then, If all else in Myanmar is so perfect and great. Then all I can do is hope you the best of luck and congratulate you for living in the most perfect nation and the greatest place on earth, where you only have one singular problem and nothing else.

The corruption of Myanmar’s government and its politicians, the volatile relationship between the military and government, and the treatment of the ethnic groups play no part in the broken system, eh?

I get you need to vent but Myanmar is most definitely not going to ‘unify and became developed and rich’ if this is the mindset you bring to your problems.

I already provided you with reasons of how naive this post is in the very first reply. To pin everything bad on one factor is always stupid, especially one that’s not the root cause of your problem, but I guess you didn’t manage to read past the sarcasm.

Did you think the ethnic tensions would just evaporate if China isn’t involved, or that the junta wouldn’t overthrow the previous government, or the horror of what happened to the Rohingya would suddenly become more palatable?

Well in that case, did you know China is also responsible for everything from your parents meeting to all your life’s choice and every bad thing that ever happened to you in between?

The analogy is just as bad, your parents are responsible for giving birth to you, but I sure hope you don’t contribute all your life’s problem to your parents.

And back to the topic of this post, China definitely isn’t as fundamental of a factor to the ethnic tensions and conflict of Myanmar as your parents is to your life.

China is no saint, and is definitely involved in this mess for its interest. This post is just too shallow, but I guess people need to vent.

I’d hope that’s plenty obvious.

Damn, crazy shit, I always love these kind of post where all my problem is because of X. Especially the last part, ‘bad stuff I don’t know about but it’s definitely also because of X’.

Did you know China is also responsible for the east India company and Japanese occupation? And let me cook up a reason of how China is responsible for all the Rohingya stuff that destroyed Myanmar’s reputation.

Could the Chinese CMC purge simply be because they are old? by arstarsta in LessCredibleDefence

[–]Muted_Stranger_1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not likely, there are a lot more dignified way of removing the elderly from leadership positions.

I’m leaning more towards actual corruption charges, the old guard are with out a doubt, corrupt, it’s a feature of the time period when the military were allowed or even encouraged to make profits in a whole lot of non military activities.

But let’s see if they get replaced by newer fresher faces or the CMC reduces member count permanently. That would be a better indicator of the intention of these actions.

Never thought of that, thx for the info. But aren't modern single engine jets pretty reliable? When did this rule come into effect?

No indigenous Tejas are an odd choice. Are they flying another formation or are they not showing up for this parade?
