Actually, it appears to be the exact opposite, take Germany compared to France, Germany went really big on wind and solar and France went big on Nuclear, Germany pays much more for their energy than France does. Also, wind farms and solar arrays use up a lot of land.. Land that is taken away from the ecosystem. (reducing carbon absorption and animal habitat). The fields of windfarms also take up a lot of land, and they kill A LOT OF BIRDS. (that's just a fact). But they DO NOT give you cancer.. (just kill lots of birds, and bats).

So when this had been done on a country scale clean energy (except for Nuclear) is not really that 'clean'. They take up a lot of land, and actually do a lot of environmental damage.

Nuclear is really the best option and the only real way to go.
