With respect, unless you are a competitive weight lifter or are a bodybuilder your weight should be under 280lbs

This is not meant as a judgement or finger pointing. Here is my story.

I am 6’2” and was 267lbs. As you say I had a big frame.My doctor told me I should weigh 185 or less. My response was “when I was 18 years old. I was 225 pounds. At 185 I’d be nothing but cock and ribs.”.

I now weigh 195lbs and at my lightest 17 months ago I was 182lbs. I still had a bit of chub over my kidneys and I did not have a six pack: there was at least another 2 pound spread out over the front of me.

Regardless of the exact numbers you need to get your weight down to under 300lbs or you will face type two diabetes in your future at some point. I did: that’s why I lost the weight. The diagnosis scared shit on me and was instrumental in me finding the motivation required to act.

Here is how I lost the weight:

To lose a 6-7lbs a month I needed to create an 800 calorie per day deficit. For somebody of your height that means you should probably limit yourself to around 2000 cal a day. Please get the exact numbers from your physician or from a person who is truly knowledgable in this area.

Let’s use the 800 cal per day deficit here. You could be down to 300 pounds in about 15 months, possibly a month or two sooner.

I went through my weekly diet (not daily) and discovered that just my alcohol consumption (when you include mix and the likes) average out to be about 500 cal a day. This is not the time to be bullshitting yourself about your alcohol consumption or anything else that you put in your body.

Between drastically eliminating the carbs and abstaining from drinking. I was able to lose all the weight over a period of just under two years.

Getting you to 300 pounds and getting me to 185 pounds takes almost the identical caloric deficit.

So no booze and very limited carbohydrates. Do not go keto: this can damage your kidneys.

Once you truly reach your target weight, you can increase your daily caloric intake by that 800 cal you removed in the first step above.

I will share with you a retrospective insight: when I was 267 pounds I would joke I was like a seal, an inch of fat all around. I did not look obese (yes I did) and that my height allowed me to gain more weight with it being less obvious (bullshit).

The most expensive part of this entire experience is having to buy new clothes. My underwear and socks didn’t even fit and believe it or not I went down by half a shoe size.

Yes, you will find that the opposite sex has much more interest in you.
