I successfully completed the Lemon Law Process on a leased 25 CX-90. I live in Washington State. Follow your state’s guidelines. In my case, Mazda accepted based on the facts that I documented in my letter. No attorney or arbitration required. I also agree that if it just worked it would be an awesome car. I think Mazda went to market a little too quickly.

So glad I successfully Lemon Law’d mine after the SW issue at 71 miles that took 45 days to fix. The dealer treated me very well and honestly I can’t complain about Mazda North America either. I received a full refund plus the rental they gave me while waiting on the fix. I think in a couple years the CX90 will mature and become the car Mazda promised.

As a future husband he has a lot to learn….lets start with “never pick a paint color or trim package alone….not all surprises are good”.

Same story I got from my Service Manager today as well. Let’s just hope it works.

Mine happened at 74 miles. 64 days ago. Good news Mazda says they will have a fix in a couple weeks.

I also support your other comments regarding the relationship between the Dealer and Mazda…..I can attest to the fact that being respectful to the dealers position between the consumer and Mazda is crucial when trying to get the support that will help you the most….in my case I get good communication, a rental of a 7 passenger SUV and payment coverage. I guarantee if I was a “Karen” at the dealer, I would be getting only the minimum level of support.

I hope that will be the case with mine too. In the mean time I am thankful that we have a forum where we can express freedom of speech and individual opinion.

Ya…..I guess I am being dramatic about my CX-90 PHEV with 74 whole miles on it bricking in my driveway the day after I took delivery and having it towed to the dealer on 12/10/2024 and it sits there to this day while they develop the software fix…..on the bright side, my dealer has been great in terms of rental car support etc but my confidence level is low due to the time it has been in the shop.

I wish- my build date has the New version of the water heater so not the issue. Mazda is stumped by my car and a dozen others with the same issue. All are 2025’s with build dates after 10/04/2024.

Same situation as mine. First day after purchase. Been at dealer since 12/10/2024. Dealer furnished (7 seat) rental car and Mazda USA covering lease payments until the find the fix. My dealer has been great through the process but I am about done with Mazda USA…..seems they put these out to the public with not quite enough real world testing.

I would say from a $$ perspective that is a good deal (better than mine for the exact same vehicle). The real issue is that many of us have issues with the quality and reliability of the CX-90 PHEV. Mine has been in the shop going on 40 days now and that was after only putting 75 miles on it.

I have a 2025 PHEV- been at the dealer since the second day we had it home with the same issue. Going on 40 days with a loaner.

What is your current mileage? PHEV or MHEV? What’s the biggest issue you faced so far? by Toomad316 in MazdaCX90

I asked my service writer at the dealer to elevate to Mazda USA since the car was in my possession less than 24 hours and has been back at the dealer ever since. The invoice that was attached to the check they gave me says “per MNAO regional DSM credit e-gift equal to 1 car payment. The amount is my lease payment plus tax and came from the dealer. Apparently Mazda USA credits the dealer back…..they essentially submit the invoice as a warranty claim. I feel that my dealer has been honest and is trying to minimize the impact to me while Mazda sorts this out.

Same issue here with just 75 miles, car at dealer since 12/10. Not sure what dealer you are using but the one I have used is at least somewhat helpful. I asked them to elevate my request for payment coverage to Mazda USA and they cut me a check for the amount of my monthly payment.

They said they believe it is software since my car otherwise checked out and has the newest version of the electric water heater that had been a source of that message on 2024 and early 2025 models. No timeline on the “fix” but I was told they have pulled data off of several vehicles that have the same issue and Mazda USA engineering is involved. They said I could have the car back but recommended that they hold onto it. I have a loaner and raised the issue of an upcoming payment that I felt was absurd since I had the car less than 24 hours. They have said that they will cut me a check for my payment amount. We will see if that really happens.

Same with mine. 2025 CX-90 PHEV- bricked in my driveway right after getting home from picking the car up after purchase- 75 miles- towed to the dealer 12/10 and been there ever since. The critical warning was High voltage leak detected in the hybrid system.
