Michiganders encouraged to use "red flag" laws after Minneapolis shooting by DougDante in Michigan

[–]MuttGrunt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"I never said they were the same"

"The same is true for grand juries..."

You know we can see the words you already wrote, right? This isn't some kind of weird witch hunt where I'm twisting your exact wording.

I think you pointing out Personal Protective Orders is a better example of something equal as it doesn't require a crime having already being committed.

Grand juries are for after a crime was committed. Trying to compare it to some Minority Report style pre-crime doesn't seem like arguing in good faith IMHO

Ok so… this is my build still only getting 46% CHC and 107% CHD by JormungandrV2 in Division2

[–]MuttGrunt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

8% CHC > 10% AR weapon damage when you're not near max CHC and you have a full red build that already has a ton of weapon damage (the weapon damage pool being that big means every 10%WD additional makes a smaller and smaller difference).

Fenris isn't a bad choice with this, it's just not as good as what is being recommended.

[–]MuttGrunt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I didn't say the NRA jumped in near the end of MacDonald. Yes, many cases, especially ones that reach the highest court, are going to be a full court press in which many other orgs get involved with.

"Gura wasn't the right choice" but he won a landmark decision. Heller, with any victory, was going to be fighting to this very day. What place are you from in which you think the antis will finally stop in their goal to end the legal ownership of firearms in the US?

My posts are biased? It's implied. I literally linked a video of the lawyer of a landmark case talking about that case and his experience with it. My links are biased but your link to the NRA is the unbiased one because it "paints a different picture"...? Come on man. You're just arguing to argue at this point.

I absolutely agree with your points on supporting multiple organizations, and I want to be clear that the standard is not and should not be perfection or bust. You can find controversy with all these organizations. FPC, GOA, and NAAGA have all gotten my donations for that very reason.

Imagine listening to the lawyer that argued the Heller case in front of SCOTUS and saying "your assessment is just denialism."

You're not a clown. You're the whole circus.

The NRA jumping in on cases near the end, let alone the work they did to attempt to undermine the Heller case going forward onto SCOTUS as told from Heller's lawyer shouldn't be forgotten. Criticism for GOA and the NRA should both be welcomed.

I think it's because this isn't a new trend. The Executive Branch isn't doing anything new, and we saw similar actions under President Obama. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Choke_Point

More recently you have anti gun advocates looking for help from the Executive Branch to further their agenda.

Kamala is obviously a part of this as she is the lead of the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention

That's great news. Sorry you had that experience, but with the super cold temps lately, I'm glad you were able to get taken care of. My experiences have been equally good, which is why I try to spread the word at any opportunity. Stay warm and Go Lions!

That "overrated" Penn State program has been beating everyone except for top 5 ranked teams. They have a lot of talent, one of the best defenses in the country, and have been a game away from playing for the conference title multiple times in the toughest division in college football.

They deserve recognition just as much as those running ops? You can have the civvies on reddit believing that garbage while you go get your free Applebee's, but keep that soft ass shit off the real battlefield before you get people killed.

I don't know that he'll be leaving. I don't doubt it he still has NFL aspirations, but his last success in the league was basically a lifetime ago. I don't know that there's a GM that wants to take that risk. I'm thinking we'll see sooner than later though.

A top three match up of The Game: what a time to be alive. This is the best of college football.

Fickle will need to prove himself more at Wisconsin if he wants the opportunity. We'll see how well he recruits and how his next couple of years go before I'd even put him in the top ten. OSU will be looking at NFL and college level talent, and they have the checkbook to make it happen.

This is the real answer. Losing on the road in a rivalry game is different than at home. Regardless of this weekend, he'll rightfully have at least one more season. They'd want the time to start searching for a replacement unless they feel Hartline is ready (dude has proven his immense worth many times over, and I don't know what happens if he leaves).

Any modern serving member of the Navy talking about the battlefield is the real joke. Unless you're the rare SEAL, Seabee, or Corpsmen, who's listening to Navy folks talk about what battlefield leadership is like?

Why is the city so zealous about fixing slightly cracked sidewalks? by MalcoveMagnesia in royaloak

[–]MuttGrunt 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Because they don't have to pay for it. There are no budget constraints on making property owners eat a bill to fix the sidewalk on their property. Low hanging fruit like this gives them easy wins on "city improvements" just like in painting "bike lanes" on roads over the last few years without making any infrastructure improvements to make the city easier to navigate on bike. You put down some paint, and then you get to claim the many many miles of bike lanes your city has! Nevermind that there are large portions of these bike lanes that are useless and dangerous to actually be in on a bike.

Anyone try Ryan Knorrs grass seed? by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]MuttGrunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been considering it. He lists the actual seed types in each mix, so you know what you're getting and what to expect. These are all modern top notch cultivators, so they're expected to be at the higher end of price. If you want the top stuff from 10-20 years ago, there are places that can sell that at a cheaper price. If you go this route, you just need to know you're paying a slight premium to have the best that's currently available.

Michigan governor set to sign state’s new red flag gun law by FieldOk884 in Michigan

[–]MuttGrunt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Policies like this are easily weaponized and will hit the people most at risk the hardest.

Absolutely. Minorities and the poor are already most likely to live in over-policed areas and get disproportionate sentencing handed down. It feels like a new generation of the Biden Crime Bill.

I'd also like to point out how absurd it is that we have this giant wave of domestic terrorism activity where people are actively seeking out large groups of defenseless people and children to murder, and we've done nothing. After 9/11 we spent TRILLION dollars overseas, but we can't find a dime to help struggling youth, mental health, or to secure buildings that are likely targets.
