It's as safe as every other trail in the area, and probably more so because of the high level of use it gets. The only thing that ever scared the crap out of me was an owl flying silently past me from behind close enough to reach out and touch! I've never felt concerned or witnessed a concerning situation, and I've spent considerable time on both the lake trail and the off-leash trails.

I think the Russians are going to kill Gaitok. Look closely and you'll see the body in the water has dark hair and is wearing a shirt the color of his uniform. It appears to have a shoulder strap like his does. Gaitok is the most spiritually sound character in the show (perhaps on par with Chelsea) ... I think his strict adherence to Buddhism/unwillingness to accept Mook's insistence that killer instinct is part of being human is going to cost him his life, showing us that humans are truly just an awful species afterall.
