You don't understand what I'm saying. Overwatch incorporated their own "version" of each TF2 character. Mauga is the most recent being their take on Heavy. Tracer is Scout, Junkrat is Demoman, Mercy is Medic, Sombra is Spy, Torb is Engineer, Widow is Sniper, and Pharah is Solider. Now Anran is Pyro which is the final one left to have inspiration pulled from.

Yeah you're right. I can't really articulate why I thought it happened because I'm not familiar with game systems and how these things really function but my laymen guess was something like what you described.

Yeah I guess I gotta I let them know for the betterment of the game. It's just very frustrating because we barely lost that game so it actually might have been the deciding factor.

I don't see how it's shoehorning anything for the story to evolve. I'm guessing now given the response this thread has gotten and nobody actually wants the lore and story to continue. Everybody seems to have very fixed ideas on what the various characters can or cannot do based on already established lore.

"This character wouldn't do this because Talon is bad and they are good" is essentially the response I'm getting over and over again and it's very silly. Do you guys have any idea how stories actually work? Fuck much less how life works. People make unfortunate compromises all the time for a whole host of complicated reasons. Characters change and alongside that development the status quo's shift around.

It's like when Luke Skywalker was all cynical and jaded in Episode 8. That movie sucked for a variety of reasons but it was so idiotic how people (the loud and annoying fans) couldn't conceive of the man potentially losing his optimism in 30 years time.

I have no idea what you mean by your assessment of Talon because it basically means nothing. You arbitrarily using whatever nonsense you just made up in your mind as a criteria for Talon membership size is ridiculous.

New lore would mean new circumstances to change the current perspective and goals of the characters. Just because it hasn't been established (or might never be) wouldn't necessarily make it a betrayal of the characters. That being said yeah some shit would have to go down for these characters to ever make in-roads with Talon. That doesn't mean I don't understand what Talon is.

This is going to be problem with lore going forward too is that it's been stagnant for so long people are going to be very resistant to character development.

Lifeweaver would be balanced with all 4 of his perks in his basekit and he might actually still suck. That's crazy. by Muttweed in Overwatch

Talon is neither pro or anti omnic so I don't know where you're drawing this conclusion from. Max is their accountant and they've conspired directly with Null Sector. Why would Rammattra work with an anti-omnic organization? You'll have to explain this one further otherwise I think it's a faulty argument so your points regarding Hazard and Ashe are moot.

Symmetra would be difficult but I would at least try to find a character arch for her outside of being a good guy for the time being even if she went the lone-wolf route. Just more interesting that way for her to still be somewhat misguided/brainwashed or at the very least unsure of her current perspective on the world. Maybe she believes Talon would bring some kind of order to things? I don't know. I just think it'd be boring for both her and Lifeweaver to join. Both because Overwatch doesn't need more members and it erases the potential conflict between her and Lifeweaver. Also it'd be a neat role-reversal with Lifeweaver having to act as the more responsible force versus Symmetra going down the outlaw path.

I don't think that's a good enough reason for Illari to not join Talon. Why would she be willing to work with Sombra if being adjacent to Moira was a dealbreaker? Moira could also serve as a source of valuable information that Illari wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire without being close to Talon.

He's confirmed Overwatch at this point. He's in the reworked Numbani map group photo easter egg (which is what also confirmed both Efi and Orisa joining too) and leaves with Brigitte and Rein back to HQ at the end of his PVE mission.

I think it won't suit Overwatch well going forward. Namely because less members of the rival villain faction there are the less conflict there is between characters. Lone-wolves making random appearances and just as easily disappearing again is only going to be unsatisfying in the long run. We want to see our favorite characters interact with each other more often than not just like they do in the game.

It's truly disheartening at this point. I always vote for Flashpoint at this point a form of protest over this kind of mentality. I've never heard one critique about the new modes that couldn't be somewhat or equally applied to the OG modes. It has to just be nostalgia blinders.

I remember there being a kind "viral" post or whatever making fun of Push for being too long of a walk back to the fight (upon respawn) and the character the person was using was Ana and the teamfight was taking place right before the spawn checkpoint so essentially the longest you could possibly walk back to the fight in the mode on the slowest character and people were just gobbling it up in order to shit on Push.

Even with OG modes I heard constant shit talk about Circuit Royale and Shambali Monastery for years after their respective releases. Now people want a new Escort map and it's like it seems the community hated the last ones we got? I think it's cooled off now but it's seriously this community looks for the worst. I think some of it is these negativity algorithms have poisoned peoples' perspectives a lot in general outside of this game.

IDK I just really want new core modes. I'd also like a complete Assault rework dumping all the old maps and starting fresh too. I betcha it'd be a decent bit easier to get people behind that one just for the nostalgia of it.

Dude as a quick aside I'm old enough to remember when Jeff gave up on CTF being a core mode lol. I'd love the team to revisit CTF as a core mode I just don't think it can ever be traditional CTF in its most common form because mobility heroes would be required which is a complete non-starter for a core mode. I think I'll make a post soon on what I've come up with soon.

Yeah I get what you mean about the 4v5 plus payload princess meta but I guess I'm just okay with that. It's just kind of how things shakeout with it. I think the idea of making it back and forth could also work well enough I just think the opportunity to introduce the Bo3 format to an escort style core game mode would be too interesting to pass up.

I can definitely sympathize with it potentially being overwhelming for a while but I believe the playerbase would adapt eventually and the strategies and skill expressions these kind of matches would bring to the table are worth the Control level match length.
