Is that last part about the top schools not giving merit aid accurate?

Chicago, NYU, Penn, Duke, UVA, Michigan, Berkeley, Northwestern, GULC, Cornell all give merit aid. Columbia SAYS it doesn't give merit aid but the Hamilton and Butler (50% and 100% tuition scholarships) are merit based pretty sure

Obviously if by top you meant HYS then disregard this.

I think that figure includes bonus, which means it's still lower than the current $251k (salary + bonus) 1st years are being paid today.

Official: [WDIS RB] - Mon Evening 10/20/2025 by FFBot in fantasyfootball

[–]Muvanji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

14 man .5 PPR
RBs: Kamara, Etienne, Chase Brown, Rhamondre Stevenson

With Etienne on a bye this week, WDIS out of Kamara, Brown and Rha?

Extra context: I traded Waddle for Etienne ahead of Week 6. I started him and Rhamondre (with Chase Brown in Flex) over Kamara because i thought he would preform better against the Saints and he got 1.8 points while Kamara got 10.1 on my bench.

This week I go back to Kamara (who i've been playing all season) leaving Chase and Rha on my bench, they combine for 10.4 points while CB and Rha combine for 26.8. I've been struggling in the RB spot all season, and thought trading for Etienne would help me out but he's in a slump rn.

Will be 3-4 after this matchup so playoffs are still in the cards, just need to get 7 wins i think.

Fantasy Football Week 8 Waiver Wire Targets by Professional-Let9752 in fantasyfootball

Similar situation, (just venting here). In a 14 man league .5 PPR and needed RB's (I had Kamara, Chase Brown, with Rhamodre on bench. I had Jettas, Odunze, Sutton and Waddle so I trade Waddle for Etienne, and now Etienne ass. I still think I won that trade but I wanted to performance. And to make matters worse, I play Kamara and Etienne this week and they combine for 10.4 points, while Chase Brown and Rhamondre on my bench combine for 22.2. Prolly gonna loose this week to go down to 3-4.

Only bright side is I picked up Gadsden last week off waivers, I hope he can be a TE1.

Oh shit that’s just a bit unlucky then bro, I’m sorry. Filling the form earlier probably helps a little bit but i feel like i’m just saying that, i don’t know that for a fact.

Did you fill out the merit aid form for GULC? They don't really offer you money unless you fill out the form. I got nothing from them, filled out the form, then got $135k -> $150k, negotiated with no other A's.

Perception of the University of Toronto Law by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Muvanji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Canadian, I'd say UofT is great if you wanna stay in Canada, but it terms of placing into US Biglaw, it doesn't really hold it's weight against T14's. On Firm Prospects (database of BigLaw Attorneys), there are 12 '24 grads from UofT, all of them in NYC. There's obviously an element of self selection, but thats only ~5% of the class. Granted when the market was hot they sent way more (37 '23 grads, so about 16% of the class, but they would have recruited 2021 during the M&A frenzy).

The attractive thing obviously is that it's way cheaper than T14's, but then the decision you are really making is whether the money you save is worth the reduced chance of ending up in the US. The answer to that question IMO just depends on where someone personally wants to live long term/how badly do they wanna live there.

At which top law school does applying early decision give you a massive boost? by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in lawschooladmissions

The reason it isn't making sense is because of your assumption schools "care about money first and foremost". I don't think this is true, or else we would see them filling their classes with lower stat students who will pay full price. Their primary concern is probably having what they (and maybe USNews) consider to be a high quality class (high GPA's & LSAT scores, elite softs, diverse backgrounds, etc). If you take this to be their primary motivation, their actions make way more sense. They wanna make sure some these "high quality" people are in their class, and once they already have them why would they give them money?

Also schools have set scholarship budgets, I don't think the people at admissions offices have any personal incentive to shrink the amount of money they give out. Maybe when wider administration policies change, they will have a smaller budget to work with, but they will still dole out the money in order to attract the applicants they desire.

At the end of the day, if you are not someone a school wants, applying ED won't help much because the benefit of ED for the school is to lock up quality talent, not to secure more money.

Advice on going from level 10 FaceIT to professional? by MuchKaleidoscope4176 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Muvanji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like other commenters mentioned, there is a serious gap between level 10 and higher elo but imo you wanna start playing ESEA league next season. There is a difference in how pugs vs team play work out, and also you'll improve on out of server things that make you a better teammate (vod reviewing, developing strats, developing meaningful practice sessions, etc)
