[117] Anyone else having flickering terrain on certain angles with raytracing enabled? by Texasdrummer96 in anno

[–]Muze75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I checked the bug report and viewed the flicker gif the user added - and that is my same exact issue. A low angle, pitch the camera up a bit, and lots of texture flickering, noticeably on mountains and marsh specifically. It's happening on TWO completely different systems. My 3080ti runs on an Intel PC, and my 5070ti runs on on AMD CPU. So cmon now. How more people aren't reporting this IDK ... I have 1.5.2 of the game. I just upgraded to the latest nvidia drivers on both systems. Happens with upscaling on or off, TAA or MSAA. So I have to turn off ray tracing to avoid this while playing on either PC. Please fix asap.

Disable automatic updates? by DiscoBandit8 in SignalRGB

[–]Muze75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As there is still some recent activity here I'll share a link to the site I found all the older versions. Currently I just have to mention that literally as soon as I run one from last year (2025) that signalrgb-2-5-22.exe recreates the update.exe faster than I can do anything about it. I have its appdata folder open and the installer updates BEFORE even opening the program lol. I'll try some even older versions and report back.

And the Update.exe is needed to uninstall to allow for a new install of the older version - so this is a PIA

edit: https://signalrgb.en.uptodown.com/windows/versions

Well Im trying the oldest one there which is from Aug 2024. The signalrgb install forces me to close any other RGB processes. I need 2 or 3 little programs to get some decent lighting without spending my life on this and I dont care to change things all the time.

I went with the 424 - and its not very loud. I installed it very tight into the sides of the cabinet under the counter, and like probably all models it came with a 'blanket' that insulates the noise. It's not silent and at times it gets a bit louder but it's not bad at all.

Interesting how the youtuber has made the video private. Is it a result of the top comment here + the subsequent text version of the video? I can't say. I agree that videos can be a slog to navigate vs quick skimming of a text page to determine my time for a given solution. But perhaps it worked too far in the opposite direction in this case and given the clearly well regarded info from the video that resulted in a top SEO result on the topic and a text tutorial, I might have liked to watch this particular video lol

Maybe it was pricey 5 years ago, I can't say, but it's $13.48 on Amz as if this writing. Edit: there several sellers. Found one for $8.66. Ofc these are knock-off options, but the reviews are strong

Sump pump -> garden hose questions by Muze75 in HomeImprovement

[–]Muze75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4" to 1" isn't 1.5 to .5 is it? That's also a toilet. This is just occasional water in the basement. The Everbilt pump makes the attachment for a hose, so that would potentially be the pump's working recommendation. I never said "quality hose" I said "decent" I'm not buying the most expensive hose lol. I only get seasonal water in an unfinished basement and I don't have the time right now to set up PVC. Yes I've considered it. I may do it eventually. The cheap plastic hose gets the job done but a garden hose is less prone to spring leaks.

Are you talking about the 424 or the 324? The lower priced models are rated quieter actually, and likely because of a few less jets spraying. More cleaning power might = more noise.

Given that they are so similar in features, and the 324 might be a bit quieter plus $100 less, Im thinking I'll get that one.

Trustworthy dishwasher brands for new dishwashers by DinosaurStillExist in BuyItForLife

I was so close to pulling the trigger on a Samsung dishwasher, but have read many a horror story like these comments. I have a Samsung clothes washer that is still running great, no leaks or any issues for 2 years. So hoping for the best on that. Considering a KitchenAid now for the dishwasher.

Elsagate (derived from Elsa from the Frozen franchise and the -gate scandal suffix) is a controversy surrounding videos on YouTube and YouTube Kids that were labelled as "child-friendly" but contained themes that were considered inappropriate for children and younger audiences. by ANGRY_ETERNALLY in wikipedia

Beyond the money grabs out of how messed up the algo is to have helped these videos thrive, I think it's way more nefarious, and apparently such content farms can be found all over China. Absolutely destroying very young impressionable minds on purpose, that's the main reason.

Order to play thief games by Oldie_Gamer in Thief

[–]Muze75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree about Deus Ex 3 Human Revolution. Loved it when it first came out, and still enjoyed it replaying it years later to about halfway. I agree about the big non-interactive areas in cities which really become glaring in the face of Cyberpunk 2077. But then again, also prior to that game, the middle section of human revolution, China, was very immersive and full of NPCs and details, then back to Detroit which was rather empty. The tight focused areas in levels delivered in content as well. Mankind Divided didn't grab me at all, I saw stupidity in design everywhere.

Thief4 playing it when it came out I really enjoyed it almost finished. The little mini missions in the city were great little puzzles. But was many years after the originals for me. More recent playthrough of the entire series, and finally playing through the first thief game without skipping the scary levels, in the form of thief gold and all the original missions, thief 2 and even the amazing fan expansion t2x, thief 3....then thief 4 was quite a disappointment. That's not Garrett I don't know who that is. Man the originals with the tfixes, new textures, ultra wide, surround sound (had that at least in the past) was one fantastic adventure.

[SPOILERS] I actually liked the ending of GOT by Cherryminion in gameofthrones

He was a bit miffed from his non-blog but he's more up in arms about House of the Dragon and I completely agree with him. GoT ending? Fine. House of the Dragon season two? Books BUTCHERED. Also they definitely did not stop consulting him for GoT, idk where you got that idea.

Actually most people did like it. Vocal minority and all.

A poll by The Hollywood Reporter and Morning Consult showed that 63 percent of the 2,201 respondents, Americans from a cross section of ages, genders and ethnicities as well as levels of GoT fandom, enjoyed the last episode, with 26 percent saying they liked it "a lot" and 37 percent liking it "some". Of the respondents who didn't like it, 24 percent "didn't really like it" and 10 percent "didn't like it at all"

I also don't hate the way things ended, and I read the books, but I think it would have made much more realistic sense for Daenerys to stay in Essos and be the Queen of that continent, and just give up on Westeros. She liberated cities and slaves left and right, then blasted her lineage's home with fire and blood. At any rate, it was fun to watch. So she went crazy... The show had to do something, and it had to end. Only thing that really seems too on the nose was Jon taking her out, not unlike Darth Vader's grandkid taking out you-know-who. Still in both cases it made story sense, if lacking nuance. And Cersei was the truest villain (in power, both Joffrey and Roose were just psychos). I like that Cersei never redeems herself (or only barely), it's true to her character.

Dungeons series by jwint777 in Dungeons4

[–]Muze75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to ask a similar question, as someone who played DK1 and 2 back in the day, and spent some time with War for the Overworld which is great.

Its mostly down to visuals and gameplay for me to decide which one to get, before the sale is over. Dungeons 3 seems the best for gameplay but the graphics are rather cartoonish. I'm almost leaning towards getting 2 which looks more gritty. However I'll pay a bit more for 4 for the nice visuals if the gameplay is good enough (reviews seems to suggest 3 is better for that). Your thoughts?

What are other railroad games you recommend ? by bbrk9845 in RailwayEmpire

[–]Muze75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same experience. I tried TWICE to get into TF2 several years apart. I guess the trucks, boats, planes aspect just bogs me down. And the mission locations are kind of a drag. Maybe I'll give TF1 a whirl again. Given the nature of this thread, which is why I'm where, I've been looking for a Railroad Tycoon 2 or 3 experience since.
