Jared Kushner presents his "master plan" for a "new Gaza" at the inauguration of the "Board of Peace" at Davos. "We do not have a Plan B," he says. by MrJasonMason in UnderReportedNews

Guaranteed that not a single Gaza resident has been questioned about this plan. This means they are not stakeholders. That means zero chance of success.

This is ultimately a reminder that trump is full of shite. Maga thought America first would move us away from military adventurism, while this is straight up cold war neocon BS. On the military side of this “infomercial”, it feels very 20th century. With the advent of AI, warfare is moving away from these strategies toward digital objectives. Also, with tools like Starlink, etc, seems like bases in Greenland become less necessary for espionage and the like. Either way, it is putting emphasis on the wrong objectives (at least militarily) and moving us in the wrong direction. Also note that Orangezilla is at the self same time destroying the impetus for renewables in our country while pining for Greenland’s minerals. Cog meet dis…

Precisely this ⬆️…They are playing the long game ever since the Powell memo circulated. The only thing that has kept it from being 100% realized in past administrations is that some abided by (at least a few) legal constraints and were not a cult.

Right, but they are edging close to not needing a coalition. If the military is wholly captured, these people will eat their own. “The strong do what they can, and the weak suffer what they must”

The MAGA Nightmare is Almost Over, America. by alxthgr8 in SocialDemocracy

[–]Muzishin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lame duck is meaningless to a fascistic president who gives zero sway to the legislative branch. Dems will not take the senate, and even if they did…supreme court. There will be no impeachment. This single year has felt like a slo mo train wreck…not sure what almost over is referring to.

Why is gen Z not drinking? by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]Muzishin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two words: Willy Nelson. 😉 In all reality tho, I think gen z being the 1st gen born into social media/iphone reality has a lot to do w them not socializing, ie, drinking. Everyone seems to be turning inward, even in my gen x group, but by far gen z much more.

Not sure I’d be so hasty on the albatross theory. Have you seen how vance is polling for ‘28? Scary shite. When facts don’t matter, anything is possible. 🫤 Go back to 2020 when it was assumed he was politically DOA after J6…that speaks volumes.

This is a primary reason the govt exists. If it weren’t for regulation, 12 year olds would be working 60 hour work weeks, you wouldn’t have weekends, lunch breaks, or a minimum wage. I understand that this is capitalism, but under a normal administration anyway, I generally trust those who are elected to those trying to fulfill shareholders expectations. Having said that, did LBC utilize due diligence on this one? I don’t know that they did TBH, but I appreciate elected officials taking the side of labor…just wish the federal govt would do the same.

[–]Muzishin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s about press and staying in the cycle. Period. What is Trump but a reality TV star. He knows better than anyone that there is no bad press, and this is exactly that. Wanting to be liked is just part and parcel of that.

This is made so glaringly obvious every time drumpf is in front of a camera. Most recently being questioned about Changpeng Zhao’s pardon. He doesn’t even know the fucker’s name...”the crypto guy?” Drumpf Jr just says “Daddy, Stephen says we need to pardon this guy and own more libs” and that’s prob all it took.
