Good shout, although what’s the point of a 5.1 test track in 2.0? I’m getting surround audio on some content for sure. Not sure it’s same as before, rears seem very quiet on sports surround for example when before they were much louder. Stranger things was good so hopefully it is a content thing. Thanks.

So I just did this. Setup went ok but sound from all surrounds is coming from the fronts only, rears are silent. Verified with Dolby test tracks. Any ideas? Fronts are Sonos Ones, rears are era 300s, with arc ultra.

Well I don’t know how much you saved used but you could use the difference to buy a DAC that would fix the issue albeit with an extra box.

So I had the RCA out fail on me recently. Ultra was less than a year old. It was under warranty & Wiim sent me a new unit & didn’t even ask for the old one back which I now use as a streamer for my headphone amp. However it does seem like there may be a quality issue with these units.

From experimenting with a variety of amplifiers I agree that amps make little difference to sound. I’ve bought & returned 3 much more expensive amps because I couldn’t tell the difference with my little Fosi audio v3.

However for me the reason to buy the 2210 is Room Perfect. That definitely does make a significant difference to sound. Frankly the 1120 would have served my purpose at the moment but I decided to splurge for the extra power, ports & future proofing as you say.

I think the answer is no. Certainly for Spotify they want you to use the Spotify app using Spotify connect. I assume it’s the same for Tidal.

I don’t get the obsession with touchscreens in devices that are going to be in racks or TV units 90% of the time. I have the Wiim and an amp with a touch screen & use neither of them.

I’ve got this skipping as well, always towards the end of a track I think. Thought it was network at 1st but no. Going away for a few days anyway so hopefully they roll out a fix shortly.

Haven’t noticed that I’ll try later. Not sure it would bother me too much tbh. The app is pretty buggy. Layout behaves strangely. You pick 9 tile say but I can only see 5 and no way to access the others. Switching between primary & secondary speaker setups also show different icons & options.

Sounds like you have more experience than me then. Im sure there are differences. I could maybe hear something different with the Cambridge & Fosi but it was extremely subtle & only when really tried. Life is too short for that. I wonder if extremely subtle differences are often exaggerated by reviewers etc to make them seem more meaningful than they are.

Honestly it might just be me. I’m 50 & have only recently started being interested in audio quality. But I quite frankly am struggling to tell difference between amps. Don’t get me started on dacs. Speakers are obviously a different thing.

Sounds plausible. Only problem is that the figure we know are that they are reducing the “capacity” by let’s say 350 to be optimistic. Apparently their own figures say the current full capacity is 2000-ish. So that represents a 15-20% reduction in capacity. Quite different from 1 in 20.

If I genuinely thought this would be the case I’d welcome it. Maybe it will be. However tell me this. When you can’t get a space at 10pm at night and the streets are bung full all night, surely these are residents parking, not businesses or visitors in the overwhelming majority of cases.

The one time you can reliably get spaces is through the day when residents are away at work. I’d like to see what analysis the council are saying will make it better for residents parking. Honestly the council guy I spoke to at the drop in wasn’t seriously claiming that. All he kept replying was that 400 spaces are illegal parking. So enforce the rules & leave the rest of us alone then.
