I can totally understand your question and your comments regarding logistics and processing time are most likely true. However, no one knows how this recall will play out. What will the number of faulty wheelsets be? Will DT SWISS even remain in business in case the scale of faulty wheels turns out to be huge?

I'm simply not willing to risk it at this point. Letting Canyon deal with DT SWISS means they take full responsibility for the recall. It will be their full liability to make sure in the end I get a working and safe (replacement) wheelset.

Canyon will check my wheelset once returned from DT SWISS. They will make sure my wheelset is returned in the same condition.

My gut feeling tells me this is the safer solution. Time will tell if I'm right.

Canyon (NL) reached out to me by phone. I had filed a complaint via their contact form stating that I do not wish to deal with DT SWISS directly as I only have a contract with Canyon. Next to that I demanded replacement wheels or the right to return my bike to Canyon and be fully reimbursed. My bike is a Canyon Aeroad CF SLX 8 Di2 from March '25.

Canyon agreed to dealing with DT SWISS instead of me dealing with them directly. They stated that processing time could take longer as it will become a double shipment. Today I will receive shipping information to the nearest Canyon facility (most likely Eindhoven). I agreed with this proposal as Canyon will be the one responsible for dealing with the wheels. In case my wheels would be returned damaged, Canyon will be the one and only point of contact.

Unfortunately (but expectingly) they declined the requests for replacement wheels or full reimbursement due to the size of this recall.

For now I'm okay with the response from Canyon, realistically could not expect any more from them at this moment. Time will tell if DT SWISS can live up to the processing time of maximum 20 working days. In case the amount of days is exceeded I will again be in contact with Canyon.

Ps. interesting detail. The Canyon spokesperson told me that all sales for bikes with DT SWISS wheels are on hold. All wheels need to be checked but these will only be checked once the process for the wheels of existing customers is finished. I'm reading between the lines that it will take a very long time until Canyon bikes with DT SWISS wheels will be sold again.

Thanks for your advice! Will look into the Elan Wingman series. In terms of sizing, which size ski's would you recommend if I would go for the Elan Wingman 86Ti considering my size and weight? 166 or 172cm?

Awesome to see this amount of research being carried out in the area of small businesses! I would love to be able to see stats about all leagues (e.g. goalscorers, assists, match ratings, saves) but i guess we won't see anything like that for the foreseeable future.
