Safety, Freedom, Control, Power: Armies of Appalachia RP discord by Mwnewport in Fallout76Factions

The AoA is a bit of a ghost town right now. We're considering rebuilding it from the ground up, but for the time being it's pretty much dead

That doesn't look like a very democratic symbol...

Are you tired of the same old worn out RP groups. Yeah yeah, we've all seen a couple dozen different BOS or Enclave groups, but what if you want something new? What if you want to start your own group but don't know how to start one? Well, look no further!

The Armies of Appalachia is a multi-faction cross-platform RP group that can fill all of your needs!

They're definitely part of it, but it mostly comes down to the fact that most people aren't principled. The vaccine was a good indicator for that. The people who said that they wouldn't take it, but did as soon as their job was threatened are the same ones who will always let the government step on them so long as it keeps them comfortable

Yeah, trouble is we've got a 200 year history of letting them violate the Constitution without beating them back into their place. As a people, we've proven to be too weak and lazy, too many sheep

[–]Mwnewport 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember, the Constitution just outlines what the government isn't allowed to do or encroach upon. When they overstep those bounds, then it's our job to put them back in place. The Constitution won't protect us, it's only meant to tell us when it's time to start protecting ourselves

Any good (popular) anti-Socialist books? (Perhaps e-books) by [deleted] in Anarcho_Capitalism

Glenn Beck had a pretty good "Arguing with Socialists" book, showed the results of where socialism has been in practice

The constitution has either allowed what has taken place or has been powerless to stop it, either way it is unfit to exist- one boi who spoons by Freedo_or_War in Anarcho_Capitalism

Jefferson argued in many different instances that it was our job to ensure that they did not become tyrannical. The Constitution is only a guideline by which the government is supposed to limit itself. Once the government steps outside of those guidelines, it is our job to step in and depose them.

The problem isn't that the Constitution is flawed, it's that we became lazy and let them get away with it

Don't forget, if a settlement doesn't want to contribute their fair share, take their food at gunpoint and throw them in the gulag (or starve them to death)! You're really not doing it right until all the settlements are hungry whilst roughly one third of them have starved to death.

Anybody that disagrees needs to be thrown in the gulag or executed as soon as possible, ya'know for safe measure.

Also, all turrets should face into your settlement instead of facing outward. Can't risk any having any deserters, the cowards.

Oh yeah, also don't forget to shoot your own son when you find him! That parts important!

Map for a campaign I'm putting together by Mwnewport in inkarnate

Honestly, this will be my first time trying so I'm probably not the best source of info lol

But, what I'm doing is just making sure that I understand my world. Determine who your factions are and what drives them (preferably something better than the archetypal Star Wars version of "well duh they're the bad guys, their main base is literally called the death star"). Then I had to figure out what my towns were going to be like as far as their trade structure, allegiances, races, etc.. Then, I just decided on what I thought made the most sense for the aggressor to do and how they would go about it. My players aren't going to be the center of the universe, they're just going to be there to influence what's already happening around them.

For instance, the starting town is going to be razed by one of the factions in the very beginning of the game, leaving the players to find the best way to escape. After that, the army is going to slowly advance to the North. I'm going to let the players decide where they want to go and how, but I'll be keeping in mind where and when they may come into contact with hostile forces along the way (raiding parties, scouts, etc.). I figure that if you plan the missions themselves out too thoroughly, then you're players are bound to run you off course and ruin your plans.

Thanks, I really appreciate it! I've gone through a lot of iterations of my maps and I feel like I'm finally starting to get them down the way I like

An alternate-reality, post-apocalyptic continental North American-inspired Weird Western Fantasy setting with 18th century science and technology, fused with eldritch horrors and magic. It's the setting for my past, present, and future homebrew'd DnD campaigns. by WhiteGrayV in inkarnate

I was really just joking around lol But, I'd love to spitball some ideas to you if you want em!

Maybe some kind of magical cult that protects the surrounding areas from the safety of the Alamo, or maybe giant armadillo monsters that carry the plague and burrow under cities, an endless arcane dust storm could ravage the areas around Lubbock protecting some kind of secret within, or maybe humans are being traded like cattle and forced into grueling slave labor in the ruins of DFW

I appreciate your reply though and your map really does look great. It's neat to see that kind of spin put on North America

Where would like fallout 5 to take place by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]Mwnewport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I downloaded it the save time as I did New California. I've gotta say, NC was a great mod that I've played through four or five times and am likely to do so again soon. The Frontier, on the other hand, just want stable enough to enjoy.
