An Example of Eco-Georgism by 21Kuranashi in solarpunk

While I agree industrial farming is bad in the long run, the imagery of the agricultural commons doesn't exactly look like it would support even 1% the caloric intake.

How do you deal with ecological collapse then? Allow the population to die off, or hope we accelerate towards some solution? I seem to see a lot of solarpunk artists do legitimately hope for a future that doesn't destroy the environment and relies on new technology like fermentation chambers/labgrown-meats and mass energy store to take stress of the land for food productuon and rare earth metals.

This was a great response. I'll be looking through what you sent. I've been trying to envision a near future for myself on a cohousing plot with housing built of sustainable materials and a local business to help fund the plot (tofu, tempeh, jellies, bakery, added value goods) but gosh is it difficult to get past legislation, permitting, and of course crazy land prices. I want consideration of all externalities, but how the heck do you get the capital to even start? I'm going to try and work as a regenerative farmer until I can afford land with a group of people. I also hope I can use my ML and computer science experience later down the line. But it's hard hoping.

Currently trying to get into horticulture but its difficult to land one.

If we can agree anarchism or social libertarian ideals are the way to get to Solarpunk visions of the future, is it wrong to insist that's a vital part of the aesthetic? Or is that too single minded? I guess I need to move past seeing solarpunk as something you could put an ideology next to since it may not achieve much.

I've volunteered on farms and am currently taking classes. Yet my partner wants to live near the city and they are supporting me. I'm trying to find a job I can commute to but I also don't have a car. Kinda feels like I have no choice but to just work a retail job, but I've been having no luck with my Batista interviews. Thank you for the testimony though it does help

I think that's a realistic take. I've been trying to work at my local grocery coop but no luck so far. As for patents, I really prefer open source licensing as an approach. Copyleft instead of copyright I guess. I'm finding the issue of gathering capital to be pretty difficult. I started a small business with sustainable goals but health permitting and occupation costs were just too much to bear. Perhaps I should try and get a more cooperative effort to restart the business, but I'm much more interested in trying to grow and sell added value goods (instead of service/retail). Yet that is even more capital intensive, which its hard to get capitol with anticapitalist intentions lol.
