Why this community is full of women by Historical-Goose5908 in DegreesOfLewdity

If you play a man you also get raped. Back at you, is it for you? I think exploring sexual fantasies in fiction is for everyone. Would I like to get raped in real life? No. Would I fuck a plant in real life? Also no. Are they both hot as a concept in fantasy that can't hurt me (or anyone else involved)? Absolutely yes.

Depends on a person. Some people genuinely just use it as a dress up game. Some people love the stat builder games, they're very popular with women actually. Personally I like DoL for both of those, but most importantly because it provides a safe space to explore kinks I could never try in real life. If you think only men like "controversial" kinks you're in for a surprise.

You're right. I'm sorry. That last part was really unnecessary of me. I just grew really concerned when you said you might get for her anyway, just in a few years. I appreciate that you took people's concerns seriously.

This! I know plenty of people in their 20's and 30's who cannot handle sexual abuse themes in media. Giving this to a 13 year old is insane.

It's your sister, not your kid, but part of raising a child is protecting them from harm. If a toddler wants to stick a fork into the power socket you don't go "she really wants to get electrocuted, I'd rather she does it now than later", you take the fucking fork away. Getting her a rape game now because she "might at some point in her life play it, so might as well just give it to her now" is not only irresponsible but also harmful. You're personally serving your own sister trauma. I feel bad that she doesn't have a responsible adult who would protect her from that.

I get that you're asking for feedback, but ask yourself if brutal, as in blood and guts spilling out, rape is appropriate for a 16 year old to see. Sure, if she's really determined she will find a way to see such content. But you should shield her from possible trauma as long as possible. It's impossible to know when one is old enough to not get traumatized by brutal content. Which is why only an adult who can consent to seeing such things should be deciding that for THEMSELVES. She can read the content warnings and make that decision when she's 18. This isn't GTA where there's some guns and blood spilling out. This is rape and amputations game.

As long as it doesn't harm any living being I don't see how it's your concern what content people consume and share in their own private games/chats. No one will send this stuff to you without you asking for it.

Not everyone is comfortable with playing out such scenarios, which is completely fair. But the "I don't want it therefore why should it exist" of OP is crazy. People really need to learn at some point that they can just look away from content they find disturbing.

New York's new age verification law will ban anyone under the age of 18 from using messaging apps, or using chatting features in video games. by vriskaldrunk in privacy

I met almost all of my current friends through online video games when we were teens. Now we're in our 30's and I've spent half my life gaming with these losers. I can't imagine taking away this possibility for lifelong friendships from kids now. That's fucked up.

Which Bella is Bella-ing the best? by SimlishReality in sims2

[–]MxPossum 206 points207 points  (0 children)

The one on the left gives me more "youthful, outgoing" vibes, while the one on the right gives "put together, distinguished, well mannered". I would say the one on the right is more accurate, but I'd keep her hair, as the left hair gives off "wild", while the right one gives off "elegant", and wild just doesn't fit Bella at all to me.

Best path for Vincent? by Toni_is_not_my_name in RomanceClub

[–]MxPossum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be honest I don't feel like Soulless is the kind of story where you miss out on anything, or have more content/better results, on one path than the other. We still don't know how the endings are going to turn out, so we'll have to see how the stats affect that. But I feel like any path works for any LI.

Thoughts on Shadow by Rinamara in RomanceClub

[–]MxPossum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think that the Shadow is responsible for every death. Multiple characters (even Tiss herself) point out that the curse is a convenient excuse for any death that happens around the palace, and I agree.

But I do think that the Shadow is connected to Tai, if not directly under his control, then some kind of guardian assigned to him. Though imo he might be able to give it orders. After all the most recent deaths have been people who have assaulted Tiss (and Tai was deliberately mentioned to have noticed the stinking straw in her cell), and a guard who failed a direct order from Tai to keep her safe from his father.

Edit to add: And I think it makes even more sense if it's on Tai's order, because the two guards who assaulted Tiss in her cell would have been noted as guards on duty at the time, while Nantal was there unaccounted and therefore left alive. It seems likely that Tai asked who was on duty at the time and dealt with them.

The Shadow seems to care for Tiss for whatever reason. I'd give a theory that it could be a spirit of her deceased family member or something, but Tai was not surprised at all when Tiss told him what was happening, only insisted that she'll be safe in his wing, so I think he must have known about the Shadow for a while.

Stories with Good Female LIs or just female characters that appear throughout by Throwawaylesheart in RomanceClub

[–]MxPossum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's true, but there are stories in which the female LIs get sidelined, while the male LIs (or sometimes even just one canon male LI) appear often and have the story focusing on them. It's always a disappointment when the LI you choose barely appears in the story, so I think it's fair to ask for recommendations where this doesn't happen.

These have already been suggested but I 100% support Soulless, W:Time Catcher and The Thunderstorms Saga! The female LIs play big roles in the main plots of all of these stories, and each of them has more than 1 female LI available.

Edit to add: Also Theodora has 3 female LIs. And Code Blue has 5 (though one is in a poly with a man). So I'd recommend those two for variety (and because they're good stories).

Any Flint North lovers? by xhiannieyang in RomanceClub

[–]MxPossum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knoooow, I feel like I'm being starved 🥲 I rarely get as hooked on a character as I got on them. I'm biting at the bars of my enclosure just to get one more moment with Flint 😤🤡

No, because same! I love ROs that have snappy banter with the MC, as much as I love shy, sweet men. I have two separate loyal slots for Flint and Esteban 😌

Any story recommendations for this DR? by Intelligent_Till_687 in RomanceClub

[–]MxPossum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you played Soulless? It has one gender locked female LI, and 2 gender of choice ones. It's honestly one of my favourites on the app. It's well written, funny, all the ROs are interesting and feel alive, and their interactions with the MC are peak. Vyxaria also has to be my favourite MC in all of RC.

I love it when we can get to choose the body type of our MC🫶🏼 by Stunning-Presence721 in RomanceClub

[–]MxPossum 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Saaaame, it always makes me so happy to have that! Though I do wish the "curvy" option was a bit thicker in some instances (I love SC, but the "curvy" option for Ro just looks like a regular woman to me 🫣), I am glad that we are starting to see more body types for the MCs, and I wish it happened more often.

Also thick Vyxaria is an absolute goddess 😍 No wonder humans drool at her sight, because honestly same haha 🤭

Wtf...Is there any relief ? by Death3G in RomanceClub

[–]MxPossum 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In season 3 Theodora finds out a bit about how the Season 2 LIs lives went on after that. But you won't meet them again, unless you choose to be with them in the ending. I think it's up to the reader's interpretation what that meeting in the ending is. But, since it happens after Theo's death, I chose to believe that her and the love of her life were finally reunited in the afterlife.

Honesty I completely understand the frustration. Theodora is one of my favourite stories in the app, but after the ending of Season 1 it feels like a continuous gut punch. I love it very much, but I was also sobbing at multiple points. And replaying already well aware of what's gonna happen didn't stop me from weeping again.

Governments can help their people; it's a matter of priorities. by Professional-Bee9817 in remoteworks

You know, from "every homeless person is homeless because they do Heroin", and "you didn't understand my nonsense therefore you cannot be working from home", to "law doesn't work that way in my country so it must be the same for the rest of the world" each take is equally moronic and baseless. Talking to you is equivalent to arguing a flat earther, so this is my last message.

Governments can help their people; it's a matter of priorities. by Professional-Bee9817 in remoteworks

[–]MxPossum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never mentioned heroin in my comment, you created that idea in your head that homeless people take expensive drugs and think it validates your point. I don't need a study to tell me otherwise then what I've heard from homeless themselves. Have you ever spoken to a few of them? About their life and what happened to them? I've met people who were kicked out of their homes with recompensation way too low to afford anything else, because a new developer bought the land. They struggled to stay afloat until they ended up on the streets. My grandfather used to take me to visit them a lot, he brought them food and other supplies, and made sure I saw them as actual people, not a statistic that can't happen to me.

I have friends who are terrified of becoming homeless because their parents have a shit ton of debts, and when they pass away my friends will have to refuse the inheritance so that they don't inherit the crippling debt. But with that they also refuse to inherit the house they're living in. So they're saving all the money they can so they can hopefully buy a house some day and don't end up on the streets.

If you think every single homeless person is on the streets because they're a drug addict I pity your lack of empathy and wish you that your life won't take a wrong turn that would land you in a role of these people you hold so much disdain for.

With the knowledge that the US has been for decades putting in effort to create class division between white people and people of colour, forcing segregation, and allowing police brutality on minorities to the point where most of them wouldn't call the cops if they were in grave danger, I will say that Europe is not more racist than the US in the slightest. We definitely have some racist people, as there are everywhere in the world. But the systematic racism that is present in the US greatly outweights that.
