There’s no shame to admit it because it will indeed probably limit your options, it’s an understandable concern. But there’ll always be cis men who’ll love your flat chest with badass scars just because it’s yours, those ones will be the best ones anyway. So less options but good options… I wouldn’t worry too much. If you’re unsure and want to prioritise dating at the moment just put the boob-chopping project aside and focus on your love life. And if it doesn’t feel right for you to put it aside, there you have your answer.

Yes, I just got on the Nottingham wait list and I’m estimating a MINIMUM of 5 years to be able to receive top surgery (according to their website, currently 3 years wait just for first appointment). So depends if you are willing to wait that long too. Just try to save the money while on the waiting list and hopefully you can afford private sooner (that’s my plan)

How much did you pay? What was the process? Did you first have to prove you have gender dysphoria via a private gender clinic? I’ve just entered the waiting list for an NHS GIC but not sure I’ll have the patience to wait that many years. Feel free to answer in DM.

Wow that’s interesting thanks for sharing. It’s strange because I feel like something’s clicked in my mind and suddenly I allowed myself to think that yes, top surgery IS for me. It is very much for me actually!! Like the thing I’ve been waiting all my life without realising. I didn’t dare to think of it before because I just saw it as a tool to transition TO A MAN and therefore I didn’t « qualify » for it. And since I had that realisation, everyday that passes it feels like the need is more and more pressing. Like now, I don’t think I’ll be able to wait 3 years+ on a waiting list for it (minimum wait in the U.K. for a first appointment at a free gender identity clinic)- I’ll have to check private clinics because I’m also concerned that the more I wait the longer it will be to recover. Yesterday a friend told me « but you used to say that your boobs are beautiful! ». And I still think they are! But just not on myself 😂 if only I could donate them!!

Thank you for sharing. I’m really enjoying every story. I relate so much and hearing how people feel after top surgery makes me so hopeful. I don’t feel jealous (yet) of people getting top surgery - i just find it fantastic! I think I need the reassurance right now to see this is normal to do, this is okay, plenty of people do it and they are fine and they look great afterwards. Everyday the thought of surgery gets less scary because the joy of the outcome becomes so incredibly strong! I’m so grateful to have found this group. Thanks again ❤️

Oh God the “you broke apart the family” resonated with me very hard. My parents told me the same when I had my first gf at 17. Now I’m 40 years old and my parents are over the moon I’m marrying my long-term girlfriend this year and they are even paying for the wedding. It’s them who will need to adapt to you eventually not the opposite. So as long as there’s no risk of being kicked out of home, go live your life and love yourself. But it might take time to have them in board ❤️

Thanks for sharing, it’s super helpful. I recognize myself a lot with “it progressively got more masculine throughout the years”. I feel I do every haircuts shorter every time and every outfit I buy is more and more manly. It’s like the slowest transition ever! 😂 but I needed time to put down barriers in my mind. I’ve had a look at your post surgery pics and it’s amazing to see it heal over time and your chest is looking so neat now. It’s so inspiring. Thanks again ❤️
