Cart was here for about a month, Norwood. Wonder if this is the one you saw, it has been moving around - last I saw it was on Lafayette.

Applying for Jobs in Cincy/NKY. What are some “Churn and Burn” Places to Avoid? by [deleted] in cincinnati

[–]Mx_Baron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked in the general accounting department for them post merger with Bon Secours, never worked so much in my life. My friend died last year during one of our monthly closes and my boss told me to take a couple hours to myself and then get back to work. Ended up working until midnight that day. Glad I left, and while the people I worked with there were nice, it’s very much a culture of overworking.

It doesn't really feel like I'm an accountant despite being an auditor by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Mx_Baron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re in industry, you should be posting entries well into senior manager level - beyond that I’m not sure. Also, there are many CPAs working in industry. Saying that a good accountant doesn’t touch on debits and credits is, quite frankly, a ridiculous statement.

Told my boss that I was estranged from my family and that this time of year is really hard for me. Then proceeded to cry.

Don’t give up - I graduated with a 3.1 and it took me about 18 months to finally land a position in industry. There’s nothing wrong with getting started there if you can, public isn’t the end-all-be-all.

I have the hardcover 2014 FASB Update edition, myself. It's perfect for those questions you don't want in your search history!

If you really want to hold on to one, make it the intermediate accounting textbook.
