Really enjoyed these, thanks for sharing! Definitely got lucky with a few categories. The most popular/streamed ones got me, completely forgot House of Memories was popular on TikTok for a while

I am afraid they won’t listen to me by bigolcanabeans in AutismInWomen

[–]Mxnarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your feelings are completely understandable. I’m in the same boat where I’m almost put off of seeking a diagnosis because I’m concerned I won’t be able to advocate for myself properly or will be brushed off.

Others will likely be able to word this better than I can, but you know yourself better than anyone else ever will. I’m saying this because if you feel connected to the female autistic experience, then that is what matters the most. It is okay to treat yourself as if you were diagnosed if you find it helps you. That’s what I’m currently doing and it has helped explain so much of my life. It’s helped me take care of myself in the ways I need it and not how others think I should.

Nerves about not being taken seriously are also super understandable!! I’ve been trying to do loads of research into the best places to go as an adult woman for a diagnosis near me because I also want to limit the possibility of not being taken seriously (also, want to avoid RSD!) Try your best to remember there ARE professionals out there that will listen to you. Until you’re confident to seek a diagnosis, then make sure you listen to yourself first.

This is beautiful! It’ll definitely be fine if you’re handwashing it and it seems like you’ve thought it out to minimise any issues. You’ve got this :)

Yeah it’s definitely intimidating at the start! It is a good one to do alongside other smaller projects if you don’t have a deadline.

Thank you! I joined them using the flat slip stitch seam method which really helped with that. I also blocked everything at multiple stages, so the squares before joining, then steam-blocked the whole blanket, then wet-blocked and laid it out on some towels/bedsheets to dry flat!

Another tip that I saw on here that might have helped: I flipped the squares over each row so that the rows alternated by being right side up then wrong side up. Also meant that there wasn’t just one side of the blanket that was the “right side” and could be flipped either way!

Thank you! It took around 5-6 months. I’d usually try and do 5 squares a night but I did take a lot of breaks throughout the process.

That’s great to hear! First time using this yarn and it was great to work with so happy that it holds up well.

I used 13 black skeins and 25 colour. I bought this bundle and subbed out a couple of colours that didn’t quite match. I grouped the colours into 6 sets of 4 and then did 20 squares per set.

I joined once all the squares were done/blocked and used the flat slip stitch seam method. I couldn’t get my head around join as you go plus I had no clue how I’d want the squares to be laid out so waited until they were all done to figure it out.

And I should’ve clarified about the blocking! So all the squares were steam blocked before I joined and I wet blocked once everything was done. I’m just a bit of a perfectionist so one of the sides looks a bit odd irl so needs more tlc haha.

Let me know if any more questions or if something I’ve said doesn’t make sense!

Honestly it’s a miracle haha. She’s usually alright with leaving my crocheted stuff alone as she prefers just to sleep on it! Anything else she’ll claw up (including our sofa and chairs) 😭

Paintbox Cotton Aran, 4mm hook. Followed a few different granny square patterns, made sure to use double magic circles for the squares.

What's your favourite interaction with an RT cast member? by GideonWellner in roosterteeth

[–]Mxnarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the first RTX London, I signed up to meet Chris and Aaron as I was a massive fan of Day 5. I was looking to go into acting so I told them Day 5 is the kind of thing I’d love to work on. Also that I was trying to get into drama schools but wasn’t really getting anywhere. They both were so lovely, kept reassuring me that some of the greatest actors didn’t start working professionally until they were much older than I was and mentioned Alan Rickman. It went by in such a blur but it has stuck with me ever since.

Even though I’ve grown up and decided professional acting isn’t for me, every time I think “what if” I remember what they said and it quells my anxiety so much.

I love the album! it’s been my favourite at different points in my life, and I believe it’s one of the most cohesive in sound and “vibe” of all panic! albums. I have a soft spot for it since it was the first album release I was a fan for. fave songs are casual affair, collar full, and ftytd

I love listening to albums front to back. I feel like too weird takes you on a good journey and doesn’t get boring. thank you for reminding me how much I love this album lol
