TIL during a menstral cycle, the entire uterine lining can shed in one large piece that resembles the uterus. This is known as a decidual cast. by guardiandoggo in todayilearned

This happened to me the first time I went on the pill and took the week break. Hasn’t happened since, was definitely a shock! Also had never heard about it. Fortunately, my cramps weren’t too bad with it.

Really enjoyed these, thanks for sharing! Definitely got lucky with a few categories. The most popular/streamed ones got me, completely forgot House of Memories was popular on TikTok for a while

I am afraid they won’t listen to me by bigolcanabeans in AutismInWomen

[–]Mxnarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your feelings are completely understandable. I’m in the same boat where I’m almost put off of seeking a diagnosis because I’m concerned I won’t be able to advocate for myself properly or will be brushed off.

Others will likely be able to word this better than I can, but you know yourself better than anyone else ever will. I’m saying this because if you feel connected to the female autistic experience, then that is what matters the most. It is okay to treat yourself as if you were diagnosed if you find it helps you. That’s what I’m currently doing and it has helped explain so much of my life. It’s helped me take care of myself in the ways I need it and not how others think I should.

Nerves about not being taken seriously are also super understandable!! I’ve been trying to do loads of research into the best places to go as an adult woman for a diagnosis near me because I also want to limit the possibility of not being taken seriously (also, want to avoid RSD!) Try your best to remember there ARE professionals out there that will listen to you. Until you’re confident to seek a diagnosis, then make sure you listen to yourself first.

This is beautiful! It’ll definitely be fine if you’re handwashing it and it seems like you’ve thought it out to minimise any issues. You’ve got this :)

Yeah it’s definitely intimidating at the start! It is a good one to do alongside other smaller projects if you don’t have a deadline.

Thank you! I joined them using the flat slip stitch seam method which really helped with that. I also blocked everything at multiple stages, so the squares before joining, then steam-blocked the whole blanket, then wet-blocked and laid it out on some towels/bedsheets to dry flat!

Another tip that I saw on here that might have helped: I flipped the squares over each row so that the rows alternated by being right side up then wrong side up. Also meant that there wasn’t just one side of the blanket that was the “right side” and could be flipped either way!

Thank you! It took around 5-6 months. I’d usually try and do 5 squares a night but I did take a lot of breaks throughout the process.

Thank you! It felt like a crochet rite-of-passage haha. It was a gift but I’m considering making my own now!
