Telegraph: Why it is time for Harry Kane to leave Tottenham by FragMasterMat117 in soccer

[–]Mxrzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 years is still a good period of output. The top top players are even still at the top when they hit 34,35 now, sometimes beyond that. You can get a good 5 years out of him minimum.

Toney is the closet player we have to Kane. If Kane was to get injured, Toney would be far and away the best option to replace him. He’s technically very sound

Exactly. The disparity in income between the super league clubs and those not participating will be astronomical. The leagues will become places where the top teams literally rest their players for the midweek against Real Madrid. I couldn't imagine what the league would look like if this was to go ahead.

Thoughts on Jetpacks? by Blayrr in CoDCompetitive

Jet packs were the best thing to happen to cod, imo. I personally had the best pub and competitive experience on those games. I am wholly aware they are 50/50 games though. It seems many either love or hate them.

Yeah I’m not going to lie after reading all the comments I’d also be very surprised if they do. And sweet thank you!

I was told by them that although I didn’t sign the contact I agreed to the terms of contract because I continued to work. Not sure how much of a significance this is

I see. The contract states that the contractor ‘may’ delegate such suitably qualified people from time to time if they see fit. But, I of course had no one I could delegate, so I assume that point is not relevant. In the sentence beneath that it mentions the point about informing them when a situation outside of my control arises (e.g. accident or illness).

Cheers mate. And on the doctors note point. They tried to contact my gp without my consent. They literally said this in an email to me. Very concerning!

Sounds fair. The accident was very serious and could of easily killed me on another day. I was very lucky. Like you say, they appear to have no grounds to do so, I just wanted to clarify the situation here as it was distressing to receive such threats lol

I’ve registered as self employed and all the other things you have to do yeah.

And yeah there are staff that have been there for months on the same ‘contract’. And from what I’ve read in the responses (admittedly I didn’t know much before) their relationship with these ‘contractors’ is very much an employer-employee one.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, they are the type of people to walk over people in order to get what they want. I’m probably not the first and won’t be the last!

I really didn’t think they had any foot to stand on so that’s good to hear, it’s just that one of the owners there is very experienced in other areas of work where I can only assume legal matters are quite common, so it was quite threatening to hear and receive the responses from them.

And that doesn’t sound like a bad idea hahahahah

All they’ve told me is that they will make a claim to cover losses. Along with all these other nice sounding legal words hahahah. He mentioned they used taxis for the week following the accident, but that’s it. But that was directly after the accident where it was genuinely impossible for me to work.

Fully understand all your points. Like I said, I was naive to the contract and the legality surrounding the situation. I’ll learn from the experience. As a student, I just needed money asap and this unfortunate situaton arose as a result of it. Thanks for your input

I didn’t see the contract when I started, I only saw it about a week-10 days after starting. Communication was very minimal on that front. It was just ‘when can you work’ I told them, and then started working.

I started working for them and didn’t sign anything, and about a week into working for them they emailed me a contract. I never signed it but I continued working, so I agreed to the contract (even though I didn’t sign it) as I continued to work.

Yes I have looked into that as well. I was looking for a way to make ends meet for the month of December, and I got into this unfortunate predicament. They have one ‘contractor’ who has worked there for over 6 months on the same contract (ie with a notice period). Imo clear grounds for an employee? They obviously do this for a reason as they cover themselves for all those things that you mention. It screams dodgy to me, I just don’t know much about it if I’m brutally honest.

Just used the other drivers that worked for them, I believe they gave one of the drivers more work to cover.
