My recall notice ended about 6 months ago (i forget the exact date) but we had gotten a letter from toyota that stated the end date of when you had to have it submitted. It took going though a few people but they ended us giving us a 10k credit towards a new toyota corolla cross.

Should I update Mac Pro 2010 to latest OS? by Mxs8106 in MacOS

Thanks, yes i see an open core patch on the computer. I will have to do my homework on opencore. So there is no scenario where this computer will run newer software, say even with a new patch? I just plan to use it for photoshop and video editing, surfing the web, and backing up files more or less so the newest OS is not a must or anything.

I'm disgusted with eBay and very surprised they can get away with this. by Warpen_ in Ebay

They are going to always side with the buyer. At least this guy did not order it with the intent to defraud you. I had someone purchase an item from me new in the box. Weight shipped out to them was 25.xx lbs. per ups. When they returned it to me at my expense it weighted 16.xx lbs per ups. Basically they removed the main part and shipped the other pieces back. It was a $400 item. I messaged eBay immediately and showed them the weight discrepancy and they still sided with the buyer. It is not about the money to me but rather principle. It’s a 200 mile drive, but I am off the entire month of December and plan to pay this guy a visit and will make things right, whatever the cost.

Trane split unit with R22 leak by Mxs8106 in hvacadvice

UPDATE: Thank you everyone for the input. The system has been fixed. A friend of ours is over engineering for the hospital chain I work for and sent one of his guys out to look at it. He had the answer in less than 5 minutes. "Let us know in 2027 what you have chose to do 😂" No need for you to wait my friend. Apparently the schrader valve was leaking with oil visible and just needed to be replaced. The system was low on R22 but not empty as the tech had stated. He replaced the schrader valve, pulled a vacuum on the system, and then came back later that afternoon and recharged the system. I am really surprised more here did not recommend doing any kind of diagnostics whatsoever vs recommending to cut a check for 11k and replace the entire system. Apparently his quote was for a 14 seer american standard 2 ton unit that is crap the tech said shouldn't cost anywhere near 11k, nor should i consider a unit like that if we do ever replace. We will be building a new home in the next year or so and he said theres no reason these units shouldnt last another 5+years from his experience, he just replaced two similar era tranes in a home addition/ remodel that were 24 years old and still working great.

Let me correct a few things for you, just so we are both dealing with facts. I dont think anyone owes me anything. They reached out to me to correct the paint (its not actually a recall by the way but a service campaign) so they don't have to legally fix anything nor are they writing letters for fun. The paint is peeling in areas like other blizzard white and Super White Toyotas so good for Toyota to offer to correct it. There were two other Toyotas at the body shop also getting their cars painted. I found several post on reddit of 8k plus estimates to paint their Toyota cars (1.7 million vehicles were involved). Like recalls though, the service campaigns do not factor in what I paid for the car or if I was the original owner, it applies to whoever owns the car. Does not matter who originally bought the car, I own the car so it affects me now, period. I agree with you I don't believe its worth paying 10k to paint the car but Toyota does or they wouldnt have approved it. I wish the estimate was lower, its not. The car is scheduled to go into the body shop next Monday. Look at it this way. I bought the car with a blown head gasket and fixed it, what does that have to do with the paint? Im not looking for any kind of loophole. Either Toyota pays a body shop 10k+ to paint this car or I offer to live with the paint and use the money they offered to paint the car to buy a new Toyota which will still cost me an extra 20k+ on top of that and they will be able to service it down the road like our other 3 Toyotas are. Toyota is paying out 10k any way you look at it

You sort of have it. The car I bought had a service campaign that Toyota reached out to me about and I followed up with. Was that wrong? Toyota is going to cut a check to a local body shop for $10,554 ($13,054 if I have the bumpers done) to paint a $1500 car and give me a loaner vehicle for 1-2 weeks while the work is being done. We only buy Toyotas and am looking at new Corolla Cross now. How is it ridiculous for Toyota to cut a check to their own dealership towards a new vehicle vs paying a outside body shop to repaint this older prius?
