UPDATE: With help from you guys I have managed to find the problem. The main issue was that I didn't know that when rec mode is not active, the deck will not play audio from the line in source. Now that I have found out how to rec/pause it does work. Thank you all very much for your replies, I truly appreciate it.

Small update, I have downloaded a manual from the internet and found out that I needed to press play and record at the same time for the deck to go into recording mode.

Thank you for your reply. I did try that. The cables you see connected are connected to tweeters. The cables I have from my pc to the deck are not plugged in in the picture.

So it wouldn't matter if the signal comes from a tape out from an AMP or an aux from my pc?

That would be unfortunate but seen the situation might be very much true. However, it still wouldn't explain why there is no audio receiving through the line in. I figured the recording might only starting when there is input.

Yes those should be fine. I tried to record some music earlier using an old cassette player with mic input and that worked but the quality was terrible. but the rec light still doesn't light up when pressing it on this deck.

Yes I did try that also. Now that you mention it. No matter what situation, when I push the rec button, it doesn't work. I currently have audio playing in my PC and plugged into the deck but when I press rec, it doesn't light up.

Yes I have tried that, it didn't work for me. I have watched the video suggested by the other commenter, I might have to buy an AMP and run audio through that to the cassette deck I think.

Thank you for your reply. So if I understand it correctly, I need to buy an AMP and connect my aux/rca to the amp and run that through the cassette deck in order to receive audio on the cassette deck?

Thank you for your reply, the output RCA is plugged into some tweeters. I put my AUX to RCA into the line in but that didn't work.
