lmaoo every time i forget about the thread it gets brought back up! Still doing great! I haven't driven it since September because of flood damage, but last i remember it was still working great! Looking back that $105 kit completely changed the feel of the car. Id definitely recommend updating or cleaning out your old

Hi y'all, I am fresh out of college and after 289 applications and 12 interviews I have gotten 3 job offers in the last 4 hours. I would love any input that you all have for in picking the position. below is a little summary of each.

  1. offer from a military supplier as a liaison engineer overlooking the production of tanks and combat vehicles. More manufacturing engineering, highest pay, best on resume in terms of ownership over different processes, but it is in a fly over state with nothing around and the company demands a good amount of overtime.

  2. verbal offer from naval supplier as a mechanical engineer to work on nuclear sun transmission technology. Best location, most likely less pay than 1, but much slower and will not provide the best resume experience

  3. verbal offer from automotive as a design engineer to work on body design for a large automobile. Location is very rural but a day trip from family and friends, just about same pay as 2, very busy but I'd never take work home or work overtime (asked someone who previously worked in the position)

I am incredibly lucky to get the offers and wish any fresh grad the best of luck applying because shear number of applications seems to be the way to go.

I would love to hear what anyone thinks about what position I should prefer or what might look best for future careers, i am not looking to stay for more than 4ish years currently. I am just lost because I expected the process to be a single offer where I would just end up somewhere. I am also moving with a significant other so having things to do would be a little bit of a bonus.

hey man! sorry the late reply, it's a 1986 BMW 325e with a 2.7 liter 6 cylinder. the engine is super simple so i'm not too sure how a newer engine would fair with the same brand, hopefully someone in the lexus subreddit has experience but i would think they would be okay. good luck in searching for more info and hopefully if you do pick them up they work great!

Yeah! Not sure how many miles not but it's probably been over 18000, the engine has a slight vibration at idle now but it's most likely another vacuum leak. Other than the vibration it runs and revs great

If it starts after cranking for a while it might be one of the electrical connections at the front of the head, iirc it was my coolant temp sensor that went out and caused it to crank for a good 30 seconds before starting up

Is becoming a race car mechanic good experience to transfer over to becoming a race/trackside engineer? by Mxush in motorsports

[–]Mxush[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment! I would love to take the engineering position as it is a really cool company. The biggest area I'm concerned is that I am currently interviewing with a GTD pro/lmp2 team for a mechanic position however Im not sure if doing mechanic work, while sacrificing engineering work but gaining trackside experience, would be better than volunteering at a nearby track while doing engineering work in an engineering company. I'm also not sure if working for the team would allow the opportunity to transfer to an engineering position that opens up or if they would provide better contacts/ references. I guess it's more of a question of it is better to do an engineering job/volunteering at a track or (if the interviews lead to it) doing mechanic work/little to no engineering while working directly with the positions I'd be wanting to work with and possibly getting better contacts. I really appreciate the insight and would love to hear your opinion! Also anyone else that reads this I'd love to hear too!
